We wanted to like this place so much for the hype but it was not a good experience foodwise. The lasagne was so bad, with chunks of beef and some ham?? Sauce at the bottom, the whole thing was so dry! My pasta with 3 red shrimps was so al dente that my jaw hurt from chewing!! My husband had to scrape off the pesto sauce from his sandwich as it was overwhelming the whole thing. It was too much sauce. We don't mind paying high prices but for this quality, it is not worth it all. The service is very well, the staff were great except for I guess the manager or supervisor standing at the side of the register who seemed annoyed that we did not like the food when we were asked how the food was.

In response: when asked how the food was, as seen by the server, only about 20 percent of the food was eaten, we said fine, we were asked in the end how the food was and we told you exactly how we felt and you didn't say anything else. As far as the pasta being al dente, we know how pasta in italy is supposed to be. We live here in the center of catania, surrounded by italian restaurants, we eat pasta just as much as any other Italians and that pasta is harder than anything we've ever experienced. This place was recommended to me so I was excited to try it out. I ordered caprese and Sicilian fish and chips. The mozzarella in the salad was gone sour. When I tried to ask waiter for a new salad, they did not understand what I’m trying to say. It took me four waiters and google translate for them to understand that the salad is not eatable. I would understand this mistake since it was a hot day but the waiters didn’t apologize or anything. When they brought the new salad, I ate half of it and the other half again was sour. So ended up again sending it back. Overall the service was terrible, I felt like they are thinking that I am the one who doesn’t understand how it should taste or something like that. We were blown away by the food, staff and service. The team that work here are passionate and caring about what they have built. This is felt the moment you arrive. We were greeted by Emanuel, who told us about the project, showed us the wine and the testing room at the back (tip you need to pre book the wine tasting) we then were seated out the front and Luca and Manuella were the waitress and waiter for our table for the night. They were simply perfect, very attentive and spoke to highly of the history, the menu and the different options. This market has a lot to offer, varying from bespoke pasta, meats, desserts, NATIVE wines, and much more. We cannot recommend this place more.
