Disappointing. I ordered a meat-based pizza (with pulled pork), and thus expected this to be a normal (i.e. red) pizza where every bite is full of pulled pork flavour. Instead, I got a cheese-based pizza with some pieces of meat scattered on it, where every bite tastes like cheese, with maybe a slight hint of pulled pork. This disappointed me. My girlfriend ordered a devilish pizza, which was fine, but certainly nothing special. It had 'piccante' in the name, but was not spicy at all, and just tasted like a red pizza with nothing special. The pizzas cost 14 Euros, and for that price, we expected something more.
The menu was also hard to read, as it requires a QR code and you can read approximately one pizza's ingredients (which are sometimes hard to understand as they use specialised words or untranslated words, and there are usually no photos) on your phone's screen, which makes it very hard to compare pizzas.
All in all, a reccurring theme in Sicily's restaurants is that the dishes - to us - lack flavour and therefore keep disappointing us, so maybe this is our problem and not the restaurant's fault?
The desserts were nice though.
The staff did ask if everything was alright, and seemed genuinely interested in feedback, which is very positive.
The atmosphere - inside was huge and completely full, so we can't comment on that, outside we sat next to a road with cars and motorbikes, and it was quite hot. There is also music from the nearby park which is very audible, which can be a positive...
Read moreFood - the croquet was lovely! Really enjoyed it. The pizza was MASSIVE but deliciously balanced. Food wise, recommended.
Service - decent staff, ensured my order was taken quickly and food arrived without much waiting even if the restaurant was full.
Atmosphere - Not a place I would take a date to. It’s family and kid friendly so I was surrounded by lovely families which meant it’d be too loud for a date as kids/babies were screaming or crying all over the place. There’s nothing bad in that. But not a place for romantic dates. This is the place family and friends hangout.
What I found annoying more than the natural noise was the beeping, the constant beeping that tells staff someone’s come in. That beep like you would find in convenience stores. Sometimes it would beep every 5 minutes but every time someone passes a certain place near the entrance it would beep. Don’t be surprised if it beeped every 20 seconds. It did get annoying for me.
Decent food, good service, unless you’re with a massive family, it might be a bit too...
Read moreWell, we decided to visit Sazi e Sani after good opinions. I have to say I was disappointed. First: the place had an austere and uncozy decor. It corresponds more to a canteen than a restaurant. Ok, but the most important is cuisine. Maybe this is quite modern but using the menu available only on the phone was not very handy. Especially when we asked the waitress to explain more about some wines.
We ordered 5 different pizzas. None of those was extraordinary.
After this there were tiramisu and a pistachio dessert. Yes, they were very good.
We had an unpleasant incident when paying. The bill included two extra bottles of water that I hadn't ordered. The waitress easily corrected the mistake, but the bad taste remained.
I think you can find better places to spend...
