Ristorante Antica Darsena — Restaurant in Como

Had a really nice dinner here with my wife dining al fresco. We didn’t have a reservation but they made some room for us. That being said definitely try to make a reservation 😉 We started dinner off fiore di zucchini, ricotta e porcini. Loved how delicate it was. We shared this one but it’s a small portion so anyone could finish this by themselves without worrying about being stuffed before the main course. For main dishes my wife got the risotto carnaroli burrata, tartare di gambero e pesto and boy was this tasty! Prawns were uncooked so they had a nice delicate texture and sweetness. The burrata added a contrasting creaminess. I ordered the lombatina di agnello in crosta di olive. The lamb loin was served on top of a beet purée and also had pieces of beet. The lamb was seasoned well and cooked to preferred temperature. We ended dinner with tiramisu which was just ok. I recently visited Antica Darsena with a friend, and I must say, the experience was outstanding. Though it was our first time dining here, we left thoroughly impressed and eager to return. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exceptionally welcoming, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Our waiter, along with the entire team, was attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to guide us through the menu with enthusiasm.

The food itself was a highlight—fresh, beautifully presented, and with portions that were more than generous. Every dish was prepared to an exceptional standard, delivering delicious flavors that exceeded our expectations. Booked using the Fork so got 20% off the food bill, which was welcome as the food is expensive. I’m sorry to say that I did not enjoy my courses very much. The fish starter was a little cold, under-seasoned and lacked a little sweetness and acidity. The pasta in the primi course was well made, but the turnip purée was revolting and ruined the dish. The fish in the main course was ok, as was the white wine sauce but the cheese filled polenta pudding was odd - overall it was like home cooked, basic food and nothing special.
