PRICE SHOCK - TOURISTS ONLY I have lived in Florence for 3 years and this was THE most expensive food vs. quality experience I’ve had in Italy … clearly they survive on overcharging tourists. I was charging my electric car around the corner and happened upon this place which is a bar but … is priced like some of the best restaurants in the city. I had a small, lukewarm, reheated and uninspired parmigiana with a clump of cold spinachi salati with nearly no flavour, a glass of house red and a small bottle of water, and a huge slice of cheesecake (after asking for a tiny slice) that I ate less than half of. €24!!! Read moreDon't be fooled by the Facebook page (July 2025) that is represented at Cafe Petrarca (FI)...it is the page of the former owners and the Cafe IS NOT CLOSED. In fact, they have amazing hours! And good food...wonderful source of a good salad, if you're looking for it. But their menu offers a lot of other choices. The food is good and the service is great. And they have remodeled and upgraded the garden in the back. The space is a little more neon than my taste, but it is nice as a "clean, well-lighted space" in a modern style...well done for its choice of design. I've eaten there...
