First, I’ll compliment the coffee. My wife liked the salted caramel latte. Second, the croissant with salmon was very good.
Please show the managers and/or owner this. It was so disappointing.
Most importantly, the service and attitude was absolutely horrendous. It was the worst service I have ever had in Italy. I have come to Italy 7 times in the last 2.5 years. I have spent a cumulative 3 months or more in this country and have never been treated this way.
Google showed them opening at 7:30am. So at 7:32 when we walked up, I casually opened the door not thinking anything of it. I was yelled at by everyone that they needed two more minutes. I very respectfully turned right around and apologized. Waited a few minutes and walked in when they opened the door.
From the moment we walked in, we were treated with stink eyes and attitude. We did nothing wrong. Our baby was sleeping and we were looking at the menu, deciding what we wanted and they asked us a few times if we were ready to order. With each successive time they had attitude as if it was busy and we were wasting their time. There were like 5 people and it was 7:30am.
I thought maybe it was just a misunderstanding. Lidia seemed to brighten up when I placed my order. We moved outside so it could be quieter for the baby and that seemed to annoy one of the other female employees. We ordered two coffees and a croissant with salmon. I think she thought I said croissant sandwich. When she brought out the wrong sandwich we politely asked to change it because of what I ordered. She gave a lot of attitude.
My sister in law was trying to order and was also treated poorly bc she didn’t realize we had to order at the table (she came after us, so she didn’t know). It was bad enough that one of the male employees asked the woman to relax.
I understand that some might dislike tourist but that doesn’t mean you should treat paying customers with so much disrespect.
I don’t know the name of the other woman, but we were here on Sunday July 20 at...
Read moreThe place was crowded so we were sat upstairs. We ordered two coffees and two croissants (one with cream and one pistachio), and a Croque Monsieur and French toast.
After 10 minutes they came up with coffees and said that they ran out of pistachio croissants (too much time for them to check they didn’t have it but it was ok, they brought me a jam one instead which is ok).
The real problem was that after 50 minutes the food (croque monsieur and the French toast) never came, I gave them ten minutes more just in case they bring it up (cause the restaurant was a bit crowded), but that never happened.
When I went downstairs to pay, the manager of the restaurant said that they were sorry but they had a problem with the orders print, and our order didn’t print complete, I don’t know if that’s true cause the waitress gave us a copy of the order when she brought the coffees and the croissants.
At the moment I went to pay, the girl who was at the paycheck instead of work went to chat with a customer (even though it was a line of 4 people), the girl in front of us got really mad cause she was waiting for a coffee for 20 minutes.
Definitely this is a place I don’t recommend at all and I’m not gonna...
Read moreI organized a baby shower brunch for my best friend here a year or so after they opened this second location (years before I started writing google reviews). It’s an incredibly beautiful, spacious place on two floors. Being a group of mostly Americans and Brits, we were horrified when, without asking or letting us know, they substituted all of the bacon that we had ordered with a thick cut of pink deli ham - like, I’m talking a square, super-processed piece from a package. I remember how our server didn’t seem to understand the problem, oblivious to the fact that bacon is the essence of brunch! Now, it does seem particularly unfair to be this unforgivingly critical after so long. (I apologize by ending with some positive points, keep reading!) I guess it just shows how significant that visit was, as I’ve never been brave enough to go back to this location to eat. However, (here it comes!) all of the Dittas are positioned in gorgeous, bustling, central areas of Florence… perfect for a coffee (known to be the best in Florence!!)...
