Icy Dot Wine — Restaurant in Florence

SCAM!! I rarely write reviews but this place is a big scam . Like what others are saying they only display 2 sizes of ice cream containers size . Having been in Florence and eaten several times you kinda of expect what to pay so did not think to ask .They charged us 18 euro for 2 scoops of ice cream!!! When I questioned them they then showed me the smaller containers behind the counter which they did not put on display but to make it worst he was so condescending in his mannerism as if I did not understand English despite being a native English speaker .The other staff just looked away to avoid eye contact with us as it was obvious many tourist were scammed in this way and questioned the price on paying . It’s a shame this business thinks this is the way to make money from tourist since it’s so near the station especially with social media nowadays . It was our last stop in Florence and I must say left a very negative impression of Italy . I hope the owners read all the reviews and rethink of another way rather than scamming people to make a quick buck . Ps the ice cream was also tasteless and I’m not just saying that . Scammers - avoid

On our way back to our hotel and wanted some ice creams but our route was away from all the lovely gelato parlours in the city. Settled for this shop where they sell a whole load of other goods.....sandwiches, coffees etc which would not be our choice normally.

Their small ice creams are advertised as 3.50 euros. We asked for one cone and one tub. When he picked a big cone, I said no, a piccolo one (small). Our ice creams were enormous, so asked my husband to check the machine before tapping. It said 18.50 euros!!!! Their excuse was, we have asked for 2 flavours but we didnt....they were the ones who suggested more than one flavour so we thought it must be OK.

We refused to pay and they eventually swapped my cone to another transferring all my ice cream into the new cone and our daughter's into a smaller tub. We paid 7 euros in the end.

Scamming tourists as they know will never return. Unfortunately, all these reviews will probably be read...

The same experience of this review. 10.91euro for ice cream of more than 5 balls. So big so huge just for one person. They even can speak Chinese but take advantage of your non-locality and directly choose the largest portion for you.

I recently visited 'Icy Dot Wine', and it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I've had. The staff seemed to take advantage of us being tourists by significantly overcharging us. Our plan was simply to enjoy a small coffee break with two pastries. However, instead of serving the two regular espressos we asked for, they served us double espressos without our consent and charged 7 euros each, despite the menu listing a regular coffee at 1.30 euros. Additionally, for a waffle gelato that should have cost 6 euros, they prepared a double waffle sandwich and charged us 10 euros.
