Informale cocktails and wine-bar — Restaurant in Florence

We were slowly making our way down a sleepy street to the main sights of Florence from a car park in the north of the city when we came across this bar. We sat outside to be served and eventually a friendly head popped out of the window and asked us, in pretty good English, what we would like to order. The four of us chose a range of cooling soft drinks and coffees including the Caffe Shakerato that I was getting used to in Italy.

Towards the end of our short visit I went indoors to look for the restrooms. I was surprised to see the interesting decor and that all other guests were sheltering from the heat in the air conditioned surroundings there. Probably more sensible than us. The same vivacious guy took my payment and offered me a juicy chunk if roast port that he had obviously just taken out of the oven. Delicious!

By the way, much later that same evening we walked past and were intrigued to see that the whole street had come to life and the Bar Informale had taken on a very interesting and lively character. It was such a pity that we couldn't stop again to take in the...

Decided to end our final night in Florence with an apparently good restaurant based on reviews. BIG MISTAKE! When asked if made reso we said no and the waiter scoffed and shook his head when the restaurant was pretty empty Everyone got served free procesco and dessert except our table Lobster arrived without meat as shown in photo below. When asking for the waiter for attention he looked and ignored us The same waiter who scoffed and ignored us asked for tips which I thought was the biggest joke I have heard

Will not recommend and will tell others not to visit. If you choose to order lobster with linguine please do check if it does come with the actual...

Moglie had a seafood risotto. I had baccalau with tomato sauce. Her risotto was mushy and did not taste of seafood. My fish was completely bland and the sauce was too sweet, like Ragu® or Prego® American sauce from a jar. Horrid. We had such wonderful seafood there in 2011. Darn.

They offered only pane bianca, non integrale. Non salutare. Their olive oil tasted bad. Maybe never saw an olive tree.

If you love the taste of seafood then stay far away from this fake...
