AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ASSAULTED BY THE MANAGER. We stopped for a drink and brucetta last night 30th September 2025. The brucetta toast was stale, the herbs were dried and it was by far the worst we have eaten. I also had an Aperol Spritz which tasted of vinegar. My husband's Negroni was fine. We ordered without a menu and were not told about the cover charge of €2.50 per person. The bill came to €29.50 including a €5 service charge which by my calculations is approximately 18% of the bill. As we had not been told about the service charge we spoke to the Manager, refused to pay it and left €25.00 cash. The Manager followed us onto the street, and prevented us from leaving by grabbing my arm so forcefully he left bruises and scratches. He only let go after my husband intervened and we threatened to call the police. 1. If you impose a cover charge in Italy you must make sure you tell the customer and it is clearly written on the menu - they did not tell us and we did not see a menu. 2. It is illegal for staff at a resturant to prevent a customer from leaving. There are so many lovely resturants in Florence but sadly this is not one of them !

Very disappointed for being taken advantage of because I’m a tourist. I questioned the bill and I was lied to. I understand there is a cover charge for the table. It’s not per item. I was charged on two items cover charge. And I didn’t even use the table setting or glassware. I simply had dessert and a hot drink. Didn’t use anything else. I pushed the whole set away. There was no bread served. Nothing. Fine I can still accept being charged for it once. But not twice. And trying to convince me it’s per item. And on top of that pretending to forget providing me with itemized bill because I asked for it. I had to ask another server to get it. This is atrocious. And sadly it’s my second visit. I had lunch the day before. I came back. And this is what I experienced. Definitely not coming back here. Food may be good. But I won’t come back to a place that tries to scam and take advantage of tourists. It was end of the night for me and I truly didn’t feel like fighting. But I knew I was being scammed. Visitors Be ware. Question your bill.

We found this place on our first day and we had dinner which was absolutely delicious and our server Julian was very friendly and attentive even when they were packed busy, we had, brusqueta, pasta with mussels and tomatoes, pasta bolognese, delicious wine and we were hooked. During our five day stay we try other places and they were good but we kept going back to this gem, our Italian is a little rusty but we made our selves understood because we came to their culture and we are not arrogant to expect them to speak out language fluently. We met lost of people while visiting and we always recommended them for sure….

Terrible experience with the service of this place. Even though the first waiter was very nice to us, the second waiter who charged us was very mean and impolite. He gave us the check and I noticed they were charging us 7,50 for taxes, I asked him what that meant, since we were never charged that in any other restaurant , he refused to explain and said it was normal so I had to just pay and leave. I could understand a little bit what he was saying but not completely since I don’t speak Italian but I do speak Spanish, however I kindly asked him to speak in English or let me speak to the first waiter who spoke in English with me so I could fully understand what he was saying. He refused and told me they just speak Italian in Italy which was very mean. He also didn’t want us to pay separately either , he said it was impossible , which was a lie since the first waiter told me it was possible, so I complain about it. I asked for his name so I could refer to him in this review but he told me “please pay and go I don’t care where you are from or who you are just pay and leave “ (suddenly he spoke English). Overall, he made our experience very unpleasant… I don’t recommend this place so I would avoid it, as I can see , everyone complains about the service. It’s very lame to give foreigners this impression of how the Italian...

Their pesto is from a store bought plastic container. Waiter called me stupido.

Ordered one of my favorite dishes, pesto pasta, and this one came out an oddly dark dull green vs bright green of normal pesto, that's fine, however it did not taste like pesto at all. It was like an oregano sauce. There was 0 basil taste at all.

I tried, I really tried to eat it, but I could not go past 2 bites, it was the worst basil pesto I've had in my life, so I kindly returned it and declined any other food.

They then tried to charge me for the 'pesto' by having it on the bill. I asked them to remove it to which they refused. I told them it wasn't pesto and I didn't eat it so I wouldn't be paying for it. The waiter then came out to show me that it was in fact 'real pesto', by holding up a plastic store bought bucket of 'pesto', which looked dark, old, and expired.

They refused to remove the pesto from the bill, however, luckily I had small enough change to give them an exact amount minus the pesto and said that was all I'm paying, to which the waiter called me stupido and told me to 'get out of here'.

It was sad to come to Italy and eat at a restaraunt in the heart of Florence and have an oregano tasting pesto sauce, with the waiter saying it's real pesto by showing me the pre-made, old, from a plastic...

Really bad place and unfriendly people. When we asked to eat there we were seated inside while we wanted to take place on the terrace, where there were seats available. When we got our food they just placed it down without much attention. We ordered a pasta, which was good, but not very much. When they took our plates, they just took them away without saying or asking anything. We were still hungry and wanted to order something else, so we signed the waitress. When she came back, she immediately had the bill with her to pay. Also they asked money for the service (which one?) while on the bill they also stated that the service was included. Already before we got the feeling that they wanted you out of their place as soon as possible, even when a lot of tables were still empty. After this feeling and the fact that they already brought the bill while we didn't want that, we decided to leave immediately and to go eat something else as an extra. While we were walking we both got stomach aches, definitely from the food or the drinks. We think it's from the drinks because the ice was probably made from tap water. Very disappointed in this place and the only place in Italy in a week where we...
