Tuscan Taste — Restaurant in Florence

I have been in Italy for almost four weeks now and I can say very confidently that this has been the best experience thus far! Hands down. Guilio made my trip to Italy an experience to never forget. He was incredibly knowledgeable when it came to cooking and he had an overall great attitude. Very calm, chill, fun and creative. What’s even better to add to these amazing traits, is that he knows how to communicate and teach in a manner that we could all understand and keep up with. Patience is another trait I forgot to add. I would definitely encourage any, and all, to visit Tuscan Taste and have Giulio be your chef/instructor. Cooking with fresh ingredients and learning about the different foods and ingredients used, You will not only, not, regret it, but you will come out of class with a great experience, a full belly, and an ambition to go home to cook some more. In addition to learning and having a great time, they give you the recipes you not only made, but a library of other popular dishes. Fantastic experience!! Excellent food, wine and beer, and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff! If you are a foodie, stop whatever you are doing and go to Florence. If the only thing you do is go to Tuscan Taste Florence, it will be worth the trip! The cheeses and meat mixed plate was pure heaven, and the matching wines were perfect! The craft beers were so unique and refreshing!

It was so good that we immediately made dinner reservations for the tasting menu.

Edit: The 5 Course Tasting was INCREDIBLE!!! Varinia is a brilliant chef, creating amazing dishes using local, fresh ingredients. The taste of her food is better than I have had from famous chefs, and the price for the tasting menu was a bargain!!Lucrezia is passionate about her wine selections, and is a wealth of information on history and regional differences of wine. Eduardo has an incredible selection of craft beers that you will find no where else. These two meals were an unforgettable experience a highlight of our trip. I attempted to book a wine tasting. The title of the wine tasting is “Wine tasting card to try up to 30 different Italian and Tuscan wines” and the description of that wine tasting simply says “wine tasting of 30 wine [sic]”.

This is not the case. The wine tasting actually includes a pre-loaded card with €50 that you then use as a debit card to pay for the wines you want to taste. Additionally, even though the website offers this wine tasting from 12:30pm to 8pm, the wine tasting is actually only offered from 3pm to 9pm. I only found this out after emailing the restaurant to find out why they had not confirmed any of my attempts to book a wine tasting.

Apparently they hadn’t received any of my requests. Despite entering all of the requested information for the booking and receiving a message that “your request has been received”, that doesn’t actually mean your request was received. I went through this process several times.

The wine and cheese may be good, but there is no way they are worth the frustration of being fraudulently deceived and having my time wasted. I will find another wine tasting elsewhere during my trip...
