Pathetic. The service was horrific. The restaurant is divided into two sides: one is beautiful with incredible ambience, the other part is very small, has tiles and industrial-esque lighting, and is where the cutlery and water is kept. We made a reservation one month in advance for 8pm, only 30 minutes after they opened, and were so excited to eat here, as it is Michelin-starred, only to find out that we weren’t seated in the main side of the restaurant. We asked if we could switch to the other side and were told no. That would have been okay, but the hostess also rolled her eyes upon hearing our question, in full view of us. The interaction put a bad taste in our mouths before the meal even began. Throughout our entire service, she continued to stare at the tables in that section of the restaurant with the most judgmental look on her face and just generally made us very uncomfortable to be in the restaurant. The food was okay. Quite honestly, I don’t understand why this restaurant is Michelin-starred when you can find better food on every corner of Manhattan. The cacio e pepe is what they’re known for but it was disappointingly mediocre. The ravioli tasted like nothing but salt. They also pulled bread from a dingy shelf above their plates and cups. For the price of this food, the experience was not worth a...

Last night’s recommendation from the team at my hotel when I said I was craving a carbonara in Milan—and what a recommendation it turned out to be.

I hadn’t appreciated that there’s a traditional Roman version of carbonara, which differs from the more common interpretations. It’s made without cream, using just egg yolks, Pecorino Romano cheese, black pepper, and guanciale (cured pork jowl), which lends a deep, savoury richness to the dish.

This delightful restaurant is slightly off the beaten path—one you wouldn’t necessarily stumble upon by chance. It’s clear they love their wine as much as their food, with a private dining area beautifully enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass wine displays.

The staff were polite, professional and friendly. My waiter really came into his own when we started talking wine, and together we landed on a smooth, elegant Chianti Classico to pair with the carbonara.

The dish itself was exceptional—rich, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. The fat rendered from the guanciale added real depth, making this one of the best carbonaras I’ve ever had.

All in all, superb food, excellent wine, and genuinely lovely service. Definitely a 5-star experience—and a 5-star...

Worst service we have experienced in all of Milano!

  1. The education of the service personnel was rather irritating. We had red wine in a white wine glass! Furthermore we didn’t finish eating our first plate and the waiter pulled it away while we were still eating it without any further inquiry.

  2. Our Appetizer was a variety of fried fish and vegetables, but basically tasted like the fat it was fried in and nothing else. 12€ for deep-frying fat is rather high-set.

  3. When we informed the restaurant’s manager about our complaints, he interrupted us and walked away to call the sommelier, who was definitely the wrong scapegoat.

And most importantly: It seemed like the staff was not considering tourists as worthy enough to eat in their restaurant. We are very sure that the service personnel was joking about us in Italian.

So all in all a restaurant with such a price range has to meet certain standards. These are clearly not fulfilled in the Felice a Testaccio. So all in all we do not exaggerate by saying: The Felice a Testaccio Milano is an eyesore of the Italian hospitality...

Excellent! The best Roman food in Milan, truly authentic. I just visited Rome before coming here and it tasted just like in Rome. Also better compared to other Roman restaurants I tried in Milan. The food is super delicious, the tiramisu is simply a dream. They have all Roman classics and more, with a standard menu plus one additional one for each day of the week. The wine menu and advice were perfect. The atmosphere inside is great, with an elevated interior design but still cosy and inviting. Lastly, the service is very good as well. We got our reservation quite last minute, the day before. When we called that we will be late it was no problem, they just told Us until when we will have to leave the table for the next guests. Table service was welcoming, kind and humble, just like in Rome. The prices are incredible for the food and general experience! One of the best dining experiences during my year in Milano! Go there if you can! :)
