do not come here if you do not speak italian. just don’t. i work in service and I have never said this before but I think that I can say that this was the worst service i’ve received in my entire life. we are traveling and non-italian speaking but we made a great effort with translating apps and our general knowledge to be as polite and communicative as possible with the wait staff. our server was standing on the side of the road asking people if they would like to eat here so we decided to take a seat and have a meal. our server noticed after a while that we are not fluent in italian and asked us (not jokingly) why we thought we could bother to come to italy and not speak italian. I understand the frustration but my mom and I are very patient and kind and we’re making our greatest efforts to be as clear and polite as possible when ordering, making small talk, etc. he then seemed displeased with us but we moved on. my mom wanted to order a glass of wine but I did not do we asked for one glass, and confirmed twice that we only wanted one glass of wine and they brought us two empty glasses and I asked them politely not to fill mine because we only ordered one. our server rolled his eyes and sighed and took our glass. someone else passive aggressively put a check on our table for two glasses of wine when they knew that we only ordered, and only saw one on our table. we asked to have this fixed and our server was nasty to us again. every time we needed to order something else or ask a question he rolled his eyes and made a nasty comment then talked about us to the other servers very loudly and right in front of our table. when we left (we were there for 1.5-2 hours) he yelled at us for leaving so soon because we are supposed to stay longer (we know that it’s the culture here to stay longer at dinner but we just finished a long day of traveling and decided to cut it short to between 1.5 and 2 hrs. we made a point not to eat in 40 minutes and leave immediately even though we wanted to). he pointed at all of the other guests and asked us why can’t we just do what we’re supposed to do and stay the appropriate length. i’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant, I didn’t want my food when it came because of this, and I wanted to leave as soon as possible because he was so aggressive. I really try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I have been actively avoiding going out to eat because i’m afraid that other servers are going to treat me this way because I know only a very small amount of italian. I try as hard as I can to be courteous when i’m traveling, especially when there is a language barrier, but this really pushed me and I felt like crying when I finished my dinner. do not come here if you are not...
Read moreWas there recently, the menu looked great. We sat down, had our orders taken, and at that time the waitress asked if we wanted our starters and mains out at the same time, or maybe after starter. I said after is fine.
About half an hour later, our mains arrived, we were hungry so we would have just dug in and ate the starter (which btw was just cold cuts and bruschetta, so it's not like it needed to be cooked) but then the waitress noticed we didn't have the starter so told the food runner to just take back our mains... Without asking if we cared to eat it now. That was really bizarre, if they had asked we definitely would have just ate it, it wasn't a big deal! They just took it off the table! Then we had to wait another twenty minutes for the starter to come out, which was ridiculous! When it finally came out, we started eating, and then before we were completely done (we still had some cold cuts and cheese on the serving board) the food runner just comes by and removes our plates and utensils... Again, without asking if we were even finished! He left the board with the remainder of the food though.
Then we sat around for another twenty minutes before we asked if our mains were going to arrive at some point, it was getting late and we were getting tired and we had a long drive back. When the mains finally arrived, my husband's order was wrong! He ordered a pizza with Parma on it, and it came plain. Just complete awful service, food was just ok! Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else, we...

I wanted to stop by for a long time but wondered why there were never many people here. My partner and I finally stopped by for an aperitivo. We arrived late and were informed that aperitivo was over but we could order drinks and food. Aperitivi drinks marked aperol soda and Campari soda were 9.75 EUR fine so no food but we also ordered a mixed charcuterie and cheese plate (34 EUR) with measured expectations. Drinks come fine, 1 aperol 1 Campari. After 30 minutes we ask where the food plate is. The waiter kindly informs us that they’re toasting the bread. After 40 minutes food finally on the table. Cold cuts, cheese, bruschetta. One bite into the bruschetta… instead of olive oil it is dressed with white vinegar. The waiter takes it back and management kindly offers to bring a replacement (which was decent). We order one more round then ask the bill.
94 EUR.
We ask to understand why the drinks are 13 EUR and not 9.75 as advertized. The manager brings the menu and shows the page after with spritz at 13 each.
Aperol+soda+food 9.75 Aperol+soda+drop of prosecco and no food 13
At a comparable place in say Navigli 10 each drink +20 max charcuterie board = 60
Or you can pay the extra 50% for the bruschetta with vinegar, deceptive menu, and poor management.
I no longer wonder why it’s...
