WATCH OUT! MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE MANDARIN, than Soho or than a can of beer in OSLO.
My mother invited me to have a hot tea with her near her apartment and she suggested to go to the Mint, where she had been other times, when invited by a dear friend of her living nearby. After a close look at the the menu I noticed that any hot tea or infusion was listed at 10 Euro per person ( including a selection of biscotti), which surprised me and made me decide to inquire with the hostess before placing any order. The owner was by chance also our server at this time and when I asked her clarification about such high prices fir a tea, she bluntly answered that the tea would be 10 euros per person even without biscotti and that she had enough of costumers sitting down without spending their money ( the terrace was nearly empty and most of her tables were deserted…daaa!) Also she added that just because of my mother she would price the tea at 5 euros per person and that she would extend this to me also but just for this time. She did not seem happy about it but I still appreciate this very much. The tea came and it was just a simple industrial teabag ( a single teabag ) with a small teapot of water. Not much flavor at all. Nice simple cups and teapots, lovely terrace ( although plenty of smog and noise from the cars running all around it) but the atmosphere too transactional and the service very poor. We all do our job also to make money, bu there are ways and ways… Open your...
Read moreThe location is great, the interior decoration is beautiful even in the restroom. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable however for the quality of food provided they are too high. A free starter of tomato bruscetta was provided which was delicious and a pleasant surprise! However the main courses we ordered from the "menu of the day" were not fresh at all. It was as if we were eating ready meals from a packet. The presentation of the food was lovely because of the addition of flowers however my mashed potato looked like gloop and my beef looked like a dogs dinner/poop. My dish tasted fine however the chicken my friend ordered did not even taste like chicken. It tasted like fake chicken, the sort that vegetarians eat. The texture was all wrong and it was as if it was heavily processed or restructured or something. Is it so difficult to have fresh chicken? Someone in their review said the chocolate soufflé was "out of this world" so I ordered it but that too was disappointing in that it also wasn't fresh and was bought ready made. I don't know what the chefs are doing in the kitchen but they are not cooking anything that's for sure, just decorating ready made food. Other than the quality of the food, everything...
Read moreTHE MOST RACIST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN! We wanted to go there for a birthday of my friend, I called them in the morning and I asked like “can I bring our own birthday cake?” And she said “yes!”. So when we brought, they didn’t accept us because we had the cake with us. They claimed that they didnt say yes. Then why i would bother myself to ask before and bought a cake? We had an argument at the entrance door, and YOU CANNOT TREAT YOUR CUSTOMER IN THIS WAY. We are going there to PAY for you, but they behave like as if THEY pay for us. We were still okey to enter but not eating the cake, until they told us “THIS IS EUROPE RULES. HERE IS EUROPE. IF YOU ARE IN ITALY, YOU HAVE TO SPEAK ITALIAN”, in a rude way. So at that moment, of course we decided not to give any cents of our money to that DISRESPECTFUL , RACIST...
