On Friday, August 16th,2024, at approximately 3:24 p.m., I came across this restaurant. The manager was already sitting down due to the time of day. As i read the menu, i watched him look me from toe-to head. Not head to toe. He said nothing to me until we made eye contact, and i let him know i saw him look at me from toe-to-head. Not head-to-toe. It wasn't until my eyes asked him..."Aren't you going to seat me?" THEN he waves one of his waiters to seat me. The service from the manager and another one of the waiters was absolutely RUDE! I ordered the seafood platter with fried calamari, fried shrimp, and fried squid. My plate was finally brought to me. It looked like it was not cooked thoroughly. It was still wet, and it was still mushy. And the batter on it was not crispy. So I asked to have it remade. I told the waiter, and the waiter went and got the manager. When the manager came to ask me what the problem was. I told him exactly what I told the waiter as I translated it from English to Italian in my phone. He did not like what he heard. He was offended. It was written all over his face. He takes my fork and tosses on the other side of my plate, and he has the chef remake my food. At that point, I should have told him, "Never mind don’t worry about it and then get up to leave." Instead, I stayed. When he brought it back out, it was the fried theway it was supposed to have been. 2 to 3 minutes later, I asked him for salt. This man (the manager) roles his eyes in the back of his head to get the salt. For the life of me, I don’t know why I did not get up to leave and continue to let him treat me the way he did. He didn't treat the white ladies sitting to my upper right-hand side. He was grinning from ear to ear when the two white ladies to my right side asked him for anything! As if they were royalty, and I know that they had not met previously because I could tell by the interaction when they first begin reading the menu and he ask them if they wanted to be seated. Finally, it’s time for me to pay for my meal, so I ask one of the waiters who I never had an interaction with for the check. He responds angrily…. taking on the same attitude as the manager and telling me you have to go inside. The manager places my paper euro on the receipt. When he gave me the rest of my euro coins, he slams them on the counter. I take them, and I walk out. RUDE, POOR SERVICE, and UNPROFESSIONALl. In my soul, I believe I know what his problem was, but I’m not going to address that right now. When my audience reads my review, they will be able to gather where I was coming from when I stated the difference between the way he treated me and the two white ladies seated to my right. For the manager to act the way he did, he does not need to be in the business of service. I never ask him to do anything out of the ordinary. If I ask for salt, he should do it with a smile on his face. If I ask for salt, peper, or anything else, he should do it with a smile, his face showing all 62 teeth. I know we don't have 62 teeth, but he was smiling that huge for the two ladies he sat down and barely knew if they wanted to eat at his restaurant. I give a 1 star for only remaking my...
Read moreDo not come here, and I mean this in the most impartial way… the waitstaff were pretty ignorant the whole dinner which left my family and I pretty disappointed. We asked for tobasco and they told us that it was bad we didn’t finish it because they couldn’t charge us 30 Euros for finishing it. As for food, I personally cook a lot on my own, and their fruitti di mare was absent from aromatics haha! There was zero garlic, zero onions or herbs, it was pure tomato sauce and seafood (did not taste fresh) for a good 25 Euros.
Our family is pretty tolerant and patient with food in Europe, knowing things could always be a hit or miss, however, I would advise anyone to rethink coming to this place due to the overall disposition of the waitstaff.
I wish they weren’t impatient as they were with me when I was clarifying the difference between Sardinian Fruitti Di Mare vs the normal fruitti di mare. The waiters walked away a lot over genuinely curious questions we had over the food, and I just wished for better humans in general :(
Ristorante Papà Francesco, maybe you started out with a dream of providing good food and service but I’m disappointed to say, you’ve ruined our first night in Milan … I hope you find awareness, not just for future customers, but for yourselves as well as restauranteurs.
Also were we supposed to bring OUR OWN Tabasco and cheese?? lol - even the parmesan couldn’t save the bland nature of your pasta
Note to readers: notice how the store only replies to bad reviews with vitriol? That’s highly revealing of character
Btw we did not use a whole bottle of tobasco and my frutti di mare was devoid of flavour. Why did I need...
Read moreThree words: Rude, rip off and dismissive.
Went to this restaurant with 3 colleagues. We have careers that enable us to travel the world and dine in some of the finest restaurants around the world and other places within Italy. This is NOT one of them!
We were seated. Bread was brought out. No plates or butter.
The (rude) owner who was buzzing around did not greet us and we had an absent-minded waiter.
Order was finally taken and food was brought out. Pasta was okay. Pizza sucked. We weren’t checked on whether we needed anything or how we were doing.
Get ready for this… we asked for a take-out boxes after spending close to €120 on our meals. Our waiter told us that he’d only give us one box for free otherwise, it would be €3 euros each!! 😂
Upon conveying my disappointment to the owner, in a polite and diplomatic fashion; he was quick to be dismissive, rude and raised his tone of voice. Wow… he started ranting about how we were in Italy and that this was a thing etc.. ha!!
When we asked for the bill, we were told that payments had to be taken inside. Seriously?
Upon receiving the bill, we were deceived. That one box we requested was not provided for free or even €3. We were charged €5!!
Tiramisu was charged a higher price than what was indicated on the menu. Owner was dismissive once again and we had to literally get him to change that. We refused to be deceived any further!
Stay away from this “restaurant”, unless you’re a non-Italian tourist that likes to be shafted and knows no better than to receive rubbish service and be deceived.
Owner also stated he doesn’t care about negative reviews because he has people whom...
