Entrare da Marchesi è come entrare nella storia della ristorazione italiana. Una recensione gastronomica penso sia da lasciare a chi lo fa per mestiere, io potrei dire mi piace o non mi piace; vi assicuro che mi è piaciuto molto! Abbiamo avuto modo di assaggiare dei piatti che come è abituato a dire Lui, il Maestro, Gualtiero, rispettavano davvero la semplicità dei prodotti che li componevano e restituivano i sapori di una tradizione che ci rappresenta e ci fa riconoscere nel mondo.

Entering Marchesi is like entering the history of Italian catering. I think a gastronomic review should be left to those who do it for a living, I could say I like it or I don't like it; I assure you that I enjoyed it very much! We had the opportunity to taste dishes that, as he is used to saying, the Master, Gualtiero, really respected the simplicity of the products that made them up and returned the flavors of a tradition that represents us and makes us recognized in the world.

We sat down here for a coffee on Monday afternoon and I made eye contact with the waiter. She asked what I wanted, and I said 'two cappuccinos please'. She didn't reply, but after a few minutes came over to our table with menus and told us that we could look at the menu and her colleague would come and take our order in a minute. We didn't want to look at the menu; I had already told her what we wanted. Good customer service would be to just pass my order on to her colleague if she couldn't process it herself, it's not as if our order was elaborate or long. Or she could have said 'my colleague will be with you in a minute' when I asked for the cappuccinos. It felt as if she gave us menus to make a point that we had not observed the 'correct' process for ordering, and I ended up feeling as if we had been treated like small children; what did she achieve by behaving like that? I have worked as a waiter, and this is not how it's done. We did not stay to order, and I would not...

A Perfect Pre-Opera Dinner

We visited twice – once spontaneously after an opera, enjoying a beautiful evening on the terrace, and then for a dinner reservation with friends before another performance.

The ambiance is exceptional – elegant architecture and interior design that perfectly set the mood for an opera night. Wonderfully tempered and very comfortable.From the first moment, we felt truly welcome. The service was warm, attentive, and professional. We enjoyed a delicious three-course menu, excellent aperitifs, and a fine wine selection.

Dining in the same building as the opera house made the evening wonderfully relaxed – an ideal setup. Special thanks to the team for assisting with our reservation when the system didn’t allow booking for five.

My wife, our 7-month-old child, and I visited your restaurant. After placing our order, it was time to feed our baby breast milk. My wife tried to do this inside the restaurant and returned after 10 minutes, saying that we would not be coming back. The reason is simple: your restaurant has no place for feeding children, and the staff explicitly said that it is impossible to feed a baby there. Such treatment is unacceptable. If the restaurant positions itself as a high-class establishment, it must be prepared to accommodate families with young children. The absence of even minimal facilities for feeding a child is a serious service failure.

I was shocked at the bar for La Scala. I went in just to get a beer at the bar . . . and then a waiter came over and gave me a dish with three very delicious hors d’oeuvres. I asked if there would be a charge and he said no but I was still suspicious . . . . . . but they only charged me €10 for the artisanal beer I ordered. And they also gave me free chips and nuts! 🎶🇮🇹🍻
