We had a wonderful night here. We did a quick online searches for a good nearby restaurant for our last night in Milan. Taverna Visconti looked like the best option and so it proved. We had a wonderfully enjoyable meal here. The space is lovely over a couple of floors. It is intimate with an emphasis on good hospitality. Our meal was faultless. We started with an aperol spritz for our opening drink and it was made beautifully here. We were lucky enough too to be given a lovely platter of cured meats, cheese and breads to go with it. This was almost a meal in itself. It was delicious! Next, we chose meat balls in tomato sauce for our entree. This too was extremely tasty and a very generous serve. We had two different pastas for our mains. I had homemade pappardelle with slowly cooked meat ragout. It was lovely. Just wonderful pasta. The hero of the night was my partner’s dish. The ravioli. This dish was perfection. It was utterly delicious. We finished with some crostini and digestives which were very kindly provided to us. They were excellent too and they capped off a great meal. Mario took care of us tonight. His knowledge and advice were perfect on both food and wine and they helped make for a tremendous night. We thought the cost overall was modest for the quality of the experience. We would love to come back here next time we are in Milan.

Possibly one of the best restaurants in Milan, a true hidden gem. Incredible wines, amazing food - we had tagliatelle with ragu, and parmigiana. Great atmosphere and so many locals there - this place is seriously incredible. Try their selection of dessert wines, too!

Supplemento concerto davvero irrisorio (5euro).

Quite cosy atmosphere, but cold welcome at the entrance. The waiters try their best to be on top of everything and be polite, but they are lacking experience and it’s evident. Specifically, our waiter had to ask us three times to confirm/remember our order, while she didn’t even try to excuse themselves for the delay on our order. Our main courses arrived with one hour of delay, after the appetizers and still almost all the plates (costoletta with potatoes and the risotto) were cold or pre-cooked. Appetizers and bread were heated in the microwave just before to be offered. There was jazz live music ,too loud for the size of place. Overall an experience that I would really like to avoid...
