Tourist scam. Miserable price/performance ratio. Panini, which are two or three times better quality and tastier in other places and only cost a third or half the price elsewhere, are served here without a second thought.
The fact that a small water costs 1.50 euros instead of 1 euro as in other places of this kind is bearable.
But 6 euros for an inferior panini, even if you split it, then you barely have any ingredients in one half of the sandwich, is exorbitant.
Other bars, which are also located on the tourist mile of Via Maqueda, do things very differently. And even more so the bars away from the tourist hotspots.
The height of impertinence was COPERTO's calculation. No, bars that serve water in plastic bottles with a plastic cup and a snack that you eat with your hand are not allowed to charge coperto for this. When I mentioned this, it was corrected.

Read moreThis is a wonderful little cafe for whatever you need. We stopped here for beers, pizza, snacks, and treats multiple times during our short visit to Palermo, and had a great experience every time. Teresa is an exceptional server who not only makes you feel right at home, but will also teach you some conversational Italian that will help you with the rest of your exploring for the day. The location is central to many things to see and do, so it is a great place to relax as you plan your next adventure. The prices are reasonable, the people are welcoming, and having a place to pick up take away beers at the end of the evening made this a place we will definitely revisit when we make our way back to Palermo. Thank you for all your hospitality. We wish you all the best!...

Both times the lady hostess was attentive and friendly. For breakfast I had the best omelette I've ever tasted! The orange juice was fresh and so flavoursome. The pastry was incredible. They just did everything really well. It could be intimidating to go out alone without speaking any of the local language, but the staff didn't judge me for using my phone to translate, they were very kind. Not an expensive place either, I had omelette, orange juice, cappuccino, pastry and a bottle of water for around £17. I would highly recommend if you are...
