A must-try if you’re in Palermo! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful in suggesting dishes to try if you’re unfamiliar with the cuisines. I didn’t have a reservation but they made room for me even though they were super busy (book in advance on weekends!) The food tastes very homemade with a lot of love and for the prices you can’t go wrong (especially as it’s right near all the touristic places and sights but half the prices!) My only regret is not having more days to visit here every night and try all the different dishes.

Sometimes you can’t go home again. I had a very disappointing experience at Osteria Lo Bianco, once one of my favorite restaurants in Palermo. My food was excellent and their prices are great, but the service was absolutely atrocious. I know we weren't treated badly because we are foreigners; there were two tables of Italians next to us that complained vehemently about the lack of service. The place is always packed so they just don’t care. I had the caponata followed by fried sardines (a portion of 4) and a salad. My friend ordered roast chicken, but instead got a pan-sautéed chicken thigh! Needless to say, she was very disappointed. This is now permanently off the list!

Enjoyed having dinner here! Good value for money, greeted by friendly staff and waited around 10 minutes to be seen. I ordered the Limpets Spaghetti (only on menu of the day) as per the photo (15 minutes to be served) and Calamaro (fried squid) Unfortunately not all the limpets had opened but I enjoyed the meal anyway. A bit of a misunderstanding with when the Calamaro was to be served, we actually thought they’d forgotten about it completely, we had the bill in hand to pay and were ready to leave. It arrived about 5 minutes after which we told the waiter we no longer wanted it but he insisted. We took it home as takeaway, grateful we did.

Not everything was bad. We did like the antipasti: the zucca was weird but good and the caponata was solid. But then things went downhill: The grilled squid was overdone and hence unpleasantly chewy; the fruit salad was 100% meh and criminally overpriced: the house white wine was only kinda good on the third glass. We thought that maybe we just made some poor choices (grilled squid isn't easy), but then an old Italian man, who was also a customer, said "scegli meglio" (tomorrow choose better!) as he shuffled out. We will. You can also do better.

This is THE place to enjoy the Sicilian hospitality and energy! The waiter with a nice earring gave good advices, I ate the best octopus salad in my life, then spagetti with mousles and a great panna cota. NB: the limoncello is being served in a champagne glass full. The vibe was easy and energetic in the place full of people. I am pretty excited and happy to have experienced this. Great thanks to the beautiful team! Bravi tutti!

Cena post Villaggio Coldiretti. Molto consigliato. Prenotate per tempo nel fine settimana...
