CUSTOMERS BEWARNED! I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANY DINING ESTABLISHMENT WITH SUCH CRASS, RUDE, LOWLY, INEXPLICABLY UNREASONABLE BEHAVIOUR! MY FRIEND AND I ORDERED 3 DISHES: SPRING ROLLS, BASIL RICE & PADTHAI. TO OUR SURPRISE WE WERE ONLY ALLOWED EITHER CHOPSTICKS OR SPOON BUT NOT BOTH. WE NEEDED A PAIR OF CHOPSTICKS EACH TO EAT THE SPRING ROLLS AND PADTHAI BUT HOW DO WE EAT RICE WITHOUT A SPOON?!? THE SHORT MAN WHO COULDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH WANTED TO CHARGE US EXTRA 0.5 EUROS FOR ANY ADDITIONAL UTENSILS WE NEEDED DESPITE HAVING SPENT 25EUROS. THAT SAME MORNING AT BAR ROSANERO, WE ONLY SPENT LESS THAN 5 EUROS ON 1 CHEESECAKE & THEY KINDLY GAVE US 2 SPOONS TO SHARE THE CAKE, JUST FOR COMPARISON. I TRIED TO SPEAK TO THE YOUNG LADY WHO WAS CONVERSANT WITH ENGLISH & EARLIER HELPED ME WITH THE AUTOMATED MENU ORDERING MACHINE, TO REASON WITH THEM THAT WE MADE 3 ORDERS, SO WHY SHOULD WE BE SHORT CHANGED WITH ONLY 2 UTENSILS? DO THEY EXPECT US TO EAT WITH OUR HANDS? I BELIEVE THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF OUR BASIC RIGHTS AS CUSTOMERS. I DIDN'T WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MAN BECAUSE OF FEAR OF LANGUAGE BARRIER LEADING TO ANY MISUNDERSTANDING. TO MY HORROR, THE MAN REFUSED TO LET ME TALK TO THE LADY AND INSTEAD THREATEN TO CALL THE POLICE! I SAID GO AHEAD AS WE HAVE NOT COMMITTED ANY CRIME, AND I WAS SHOCKED HE ACTUALLY CALLED THE POLICE. IN THE END WE FINISHED HALF TGE MEAL SHARING UTENSILS AND THE FOOD WAS QUITE AWEFUL, AND THE POLICE STILL HAD NOT APPEARED. WOULD THE POLICE ACTUALLY ENTERTAIN SUCH RIDICULOUS COMPLAINTS, I MEAN SERIOUSLY, WE WERE THE REAL VICTIMS AND WE DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF MOBILISING THE POLICE WHO WE THOUGHT HAVE MORE SERIOUS IMPORTANT TASKS TO DEAL WITH...OMG I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE...
Read moreIm writing the new one of the awful experience of today. My American friend and I decided to have Thai. Unfortunately the experience was very irritating because once we sat down, the owner, the short man at the counter, raised the volume of the music. Since we couldn't ear eachother speaking, my friend went to ask to kindly lower the music down, at the first he pretend no to understand her, then he made faces and lowered a little bit. after 5 minutes he raised volume back again and this time I kindly ask him to do it if possible and you won't believe the answer: very rudely he answered that he doesn't care if we were bothered and he said that that's a public place and the place is not made for us to seat but is take away. so, he left loud music, we finished quickly our meal and left. I'm honestly shocked because I litterally can't believe ppl are so proud on ruining their business like that. he is the most unpleasant host i have ever seen in my life. I really feel truly bad for the wife. Regarding the quality of the food I gotta say, it changed a lot from the very beginning. i will never go back!!! plus if you ask for chopsticks, he unpleasantly charges 50 cents. very unpleasant man. waiting to go back if this man stays at home and if the food return to be made with...
Read moreI am not sure about the authenticity of some of these 5 star reviews because THIS AIN'T IT. Upon entering this restaurant, you are greeted by aggressive restaurant front staff. The shorter guy that was there tonight is NOT TOURIST friendly AT ALL. Mind you, the only reason most people probably eat here is because they are seeking a different cusine other than pizza and pasta while traveling through Italy.
I ordered the beef fried rice and uploaded a video to show everyone how soggy and soaked with oil this dish was. The taste was not that bad, but definitely on the sweet side. Thankfully, I ordered the spicy sauces and drizzled it everywhere over the food. One of the sauces is meant to be a "prik nam pla" sauce, but they even got that wrong and made it with soy sauce and Chili peppers. I have eaten Thai food around the world and in NYC ( where I live), and this is not thai food. This is soggy food sautéed with oyster sauce and sweet soy sauce.
Also, I'm a brown woman, and I was treated very differently from the non brown tourists. The front staff seems to match the theme here in Sicily where brown people are looked at in a different. Save your calories and your craving and spend your...
