I don’t post reviews ever, but I’m going to write one this time because this restaurant gave me the worst dining experience in Palermo so far. Vossia was one of two restaurants my host recommended. My wife and I gave it a go here, since it was close to where we were staying, and my pregnant wife was a bit tired at the moment. We wanted to try some authentic Sicilian food, so we asked for recommendations in the menu with our short italiano, and a server nicely recommended a tomato pasta with anchovy and a pasta with sardines. Foodwise, tomato pasta was good but the sardine one was not our favorite. Everything went downhill as we were done eating. When we asked for the receipt, it was kinda odd as they took a while. When the lady with glasses and wearing green jacket handed us our receipt, the final price was exactly doubled with our medium Peroni being chardonnay, and our pastas being the most expensive dishes in the menu. I asked for the menu again, and surely, she was very hesitant to give us the menu book. Instead, they suggested us to scan a QR code on the table for the online menu. The green jacket lady with glasses never showed any apologetic manner for her “mistake”. A male server tried to pick up the threads instead and eventually gave us the correct receipt. The lady plainly ignored us throughout the whole process. I try to show respect to all the countries and people by learning and using their language while traveling. Although I really don’t wanna think this is part of racism, such an act and attitude by the lady are quite disturbing, especially considering how many times she must have been in this position. I believe there are plenty of other restaurants in the city with better vibes. Please remember what you’ve ordered and take a close look at the final receipt. And lastly, be careful of...
Read moreVossia restaurant has a nice interior, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I think that is where the positive things end. You will be greated, seated and serviced properly, although the staff seemed more friendly towards italians, but that is ok, we came here to eat, not to make friends. We ordered caponata, fish balls, royal grill and swordfish rolls. Although I have to mention that the portions are normal sized, you won't be left hungry but the only ok food was the royal grill. It is the most expensive item on the menu but it is not anything special. The food in general lacks taste and has too much oil in some dishes. Caponata was just drowned in sauce. Also we asked for sparkling water but received a still one. And there was a weird interaction with one of the waiters while trying to go to WC. Anyways, if you are a foodie I would recommend choosing another...
Read moreI’ve been to Vossia six times during my time in Palermo, for both lunch and dinner, and every visit was fantastic. The food is simply amazing—the lobster pasta was the best I had in the city, and every dish I tried was full of flavor and beautifully prepared.
The staff at Vossia is incredibly friendly and welcoming. One server stood out in particular—he didn’t speak much English, but he always made an effort and greeted me warmly every time I came in. I think he wore glasses, so if you’re reading this, I hope you know who you are!
Overall, Vossia became one of my favorite spots in Palermo. If you’re looking for delicious food and a warm, inviting atmosphere, I can’t...
