OsteMagno — Restaurant in Parma

We were seven people, they put tables together to accommodate us which was very nice. After that the waitress took our orders and pretty quickly we received our drinks. Three of us had order paninis which we received very fast, they were tasty. Four of us had ordered salads.

After 20 minutes the waitress came back to tell my niece that took a salad that there was no salmon left and offered to replace it with tuna which she accepted.

After waiting for 40 minutes I had to chase the waitress because she wasn’t doing any eye contact or coming back to our table. I ask her about the salads, I told her that we’ve been waiting for a long time and that we had a guided museum visit in 30 minutes. She ask me for the time and that she would go ask in the kitchen . She said lots of people arrived at same time. But to my view it was not busy at all. The waitress never came back to us to let us know what was going on.

We finally decided to get up and go pay since we would not have time to eat the salads anyways. I ask the cashier what happened and she mumbled « no salad left , sorry , I don’t know what happen, sorry, etc…» without giving clear explanations. She offered a ridiculous 3 euro discount. The 4 of us that didn’t eat anything , one is diabetic.

We are very reasonable people, experienced travellers, not demanding, we would have understood any valid explanation if the waitress would have come back to us, she could have offered an alternative. Instead we have been ignored by the staff .For that reason I will never go back there and I do not...

In the hope that this place will eventually improve their attitude towards receiving criticism, I’ll leave here my opinion (shared also by my friends) about the experience that we had. Firstly, I would like to point out that the expectations in terms of food were not met. If you eat out, you don’t expect microwave heated tortelli. Secondly, the staff is not quite hospitable. Even when asking a simple question about our food, they immediately got defensive and started yelling at us. I completely understand that due to the high number of customers it can become overwhelming, nevertheless I don’t consider this a reasonable motivation to behave like that and blame the customers for asking simple questions to clarify the order. I suppose it should be a waiter’s job to proactively provide recommendations about the menu/ quantities and so on. Abbiamo prenotato circa un mese fa per una festa di laurea pomeridiana. Al telefono era stato concordato un menu' per apericena e una torta, il tutto per 25 persone, la maggior parte ragazzi. Preciso che il menu' era stato suggerito dalla persona con cui è stato fatto l'accordo: tigelle, gnocco, affettati misti e il vino. Al nostro arrivo, purtroppo in ritardo di circa 45 minuti rispetto a quanto stabilito, veniamo accolti con l'avviso che avremmo dovuto "sbrigarci" per rendere liberi i tavoli per gli avventori che avevano prenotato dopo di noi intorno alle ore 19.00. (davvero di cattivo gusto) Ci mettiamo tutti a sedere e, nonostante la fretta di mandarci via velocemente, il cibo inizia ad arrivare dopo un'ora e soltanto dopo vari solleciti. Sui tavoli, oltre alle bottiglie di vino, vengono portati alcuni taglieri di salumi misti -circa 5 - accompagnati da altrettanti cestini di pane tagliato a fettine rotonde. Dopo alcuni minuti non era rimasto piu' nulla; vista l'insufficienza della quantità viene richiesto al personale di portare ancora da mangiare ed in particolare quanto era stato concordato, ovvero gnocco e tigelle e anche dell'acqua. Un' addetta risponde che la spesa viene fatta al mattino e che le tigelle e il gnocco al momento dell'acquisto non erano disponibili e che i taglieri di salume erano in realtà DOPPI... doppi rispetto a quale misura? Erano delle tavole di lavagna grandi circa 30 per 40. Dopo varie lamentele comunque non è stato portato piu' nulla da mangiare ; nel frattempo gli invitati delle 19.00 prendevano posto in un altro lato del locale. Alla fine di tutto, dopo la torta, che non corrispondeva nè come prezzo nè come peso a quanto pattuito, una brutta discussione al momento del saldo alla cassa... il risultato finale: una grande delusione e una magra figura con gli invitati ad una festa che per il suo genere è unica e irripetibile e chi la organizza non bada a spese.. volevamo solo mangiare ma non è stato possibile. Professionalità assente, personale piu' volte sgarbato, scortese, al limite della maleducazione....
