Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, United States, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music, linked by the common bonds of African-American and European-American musical parentage. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. In the 1930s, heavily arranged dance-oriented swing big bands, Kansas City jazz, a hard-swinging, bluesy, improvisational style and Gypsy jazz (a style that emphasized musette waltzes) were the prominent styles. Bebop emerged in the 1940s, shifting jazz from danceable popular music toward a more challenging "musician's music" which was played at faster tempos and used more chord-based improvisation. Cool jazz developed near the end of the 1940s, introducing calmer, smoother sounds and long, linear melodic lines. The mid-1950s saw the emergence of hard bop, which introduced influences from rhythm and blues, gospel, and blues, especially in the saxophone and piano playing. Modal jazz developed in the late 1950s, using the mode, or musical scale, as the basis of musical structure and improvisation, as did free jazz, which explored playing without regular meter, beat and formal structures. Jazz-rock fusion appeared in the late 1960s and early 1970s, combining jazz improvisation with rock music's rhythms, electric instruments, and highly amplified stage sound. 22 FEBBRAIO 2020 , dopo vent'anni decidiamo di ripassare nel locale storico che ricordavo come il tempio del Jazz, peccato che nel frattempo è diventato qualcosa d'altro ... un sistema per (diciamo cosi) "approfittarsi" del Cliente e a tale proposito esaminiamo i fatti :

1. Accoglienza : viene richiesta la sottoscrizione di una tessera associativa del costo di E 10,00 con validità TRIMESTRALE (follia) . La tessera viene inviata via email, MA NON è una tessera associativa in quanto manca degli elementi fondamentali per identificare il Socio (nome, cognome, indirizzo , ecc.), ma altro non è in realtà che la ricevuta di essere iscritti alla mailing list del locale (oltretutto sarai oggetto di marketing ecc . sena aver sottoscritto l'autorizzazione la privacy). NON VIENE RILASCIATA ALCUNA RICEVUTA DI PAGAMENTO.
2. Servizio/BAR ordiniamo un cocktail, un bicchiere di vino e 2 succhi di frutta ... risultato : il cocktail imbevibile per la quantità di cannella di cui era ricoperto, il bicchiere di vino (anonimo) si fa notare che erano stati richiesti patatine e noccioline per accompagnare le bevande, ma il personale ci ha gentilmente fatto notare che non erano disponibili.
3. IL CIBO : noi fortunatamente non abbiamo mangiato ma i prezzi delle pietanze sono sicuramente elevate per il tipo di locale.
4. IL CONTO : al ricevimento del conto si è concretizzata un'altra tecnica del "acchiappiamo dal cliente il più possibile" ... ebbene si , nel conto oltre ai prezzi delle bevande abbiamo trovato anche l'obolo di E 5,00 pro-capite per il c.d. "diritto di sala" (ovvero come spiegato dallo staff il fatto che ci potessimo sedere e ascoltare la musica) NATURALMENTE, ANCHE IN QUESTO CASO NON E' STATA FORNITA ALCUNA RICEVUTA E/O SCONTRINO. Quindi riepilogando per ascoltare la musica all'AP si spendono :

7. Consumazione (obbligatoria ?) QUINDI NEL NOSTRO CASO PER BERE UN SUCCO DI ANANAS HO SPESSO € 20,00 (IL CUI PREZZO DEL SUCCO E' 5 EURO) UNA COSA GRAVE E' CHE NON VI E' ALCUN AVVISO CHE INFORMA SUL PAGAMENTO DI QUESTA QUOTA DI EURO 5,00 PER POTERSI SEDERE AL TAVOLO (TIPOLOGIA DI TRATTAMENTO CHE NON HO MAI RISCONTRATO IN NESSUNA ALTRO LOCALE DI ROMA) Spero che queste mie considerazione consentano alla Direzione di rivedere la propria politica di gestione del locale, di adottare un politica di trasparenza, di ammodernamento e correttezza nei confronti della propria clientela. A mai più rivedervi....

The band was pretty good. Other than that this place was one of my worst experiences in Italy. Walked in the door, the doorman tells my girlfriend it is 30 euro for two. I give two 20s and the guy makes as though we do not get change. I had to ask for my change and when I did he played stupid. This immediately put a sour taste in my mouth. Almost as sour as the Whiskey Sour that I received - minus whiskey. Oh, and let's talk about the drinks. 10 euro for a one shot of bourbon and coke drink that you couldn't taste the bourbon. Sad because I was really excited to enjoy some jazz flute! Too bad....
