Osteria Ar 65 — Restaurant in Rome

Shocking experience. We booked a table on Saturday night, and we were told one would be available after 9:30pm, or shortly after. So we decided to cancel a booking at another restaurant and go for this. Bad mistake. When we arrived (on time) we got told by the owner the table would no longer be available, and basically to go away, without an hint of apology. To our dismay and request for an explanation, he reacted by raising his voice, in front a room full of customers, and even physically pushing one of our party all the way out of the door! I just could not believe my eyes. After reporting to the police, we left and found a restaurant nearby, which luckily overcompensated in kindness. I cannot comment on the quality of the food at Da Checco, as we did not get to try it, but if the quality of service is important to you as it is for me, I warmly recommend you go...

I have been coming to Rome since 2012 and that is the first time i have visited Osteria AR 65. It is still as i remember it, the food is local with good price, no tourists and just a great place to have a good dinner to round up a day of walking al over Rome. There are a couple of dishes that i remember of the years, one is the bean stew with pig skin, i mean yes it does sound a bit wierd but it tastes fantastic, trust me. Trippa is another one, actually first place i tried Trippa ever was at OsteraAr 65, you have to try it if you are here. But the thing that wows visually is the antipasto to share, its just fantastic.

Buona qualità. Prezzi in linea con gli altri ristoranti, non proprio da osterie. I contorni un po' esosi (insalata e patate). Polpette un po' troppo salate. Cheesecake buona. Versione personalizzata del tiramisù, buona ma non per i tradizionalisti. Good overall quality. Price much in line with the rest of the restaurants, not exactly as osteria. The side dishes a bit too pricy (salad and potatoes). Meatballs, second dish, a bit too salty. Very good cheesecake.
