Went there the first day of our visit to Rome and we got really disappointed, the place inside was crowded and no place for us to sit so we were told to stay outside and whenever a table would be available on the inside we would get notified. Sadly no one notified us, even when there was a table available on the inside and we asked the waitress (who spoke no english even if the place was in a tourist area) and she told us to get inside and sit to a particular table so we did that. As we were about to sit, another waitress came (a blond one) and told us that this place is reserved and we could not sit, so we asked what to do and to tell us where to sit (because we were standing there with a glass of wine in our hands and our stuff, it was really awkward) and then the good stuff started, she became upset she told us to sit elsewhere and when i told her that we were TOLD to come inside, we haven't just decided to get there ourselves she told me the exact words 'yes i know, i just don't like his face' and he was reffering to my partner's LIKE WHAT?! obviously this is no way to treat your customers even if you are angry, i don't care that you are deal with it yourself! we got no apologies for her absurd behaviour not even a good night! IF YOU ARE A TOURIST PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T GO THERE, PEOPLE ARE RUDE...
Read moreAstemio is a wine bar in the Monti area of Rome and is a treasure for wine and good food lovers close to the Termini station and stays open until 1am . It has 3 tables outside for those who want to smoke and a warm interior for all days hours. We found a huge variety of wines from all over Italy and rest of the world . Their food is delicious and covers all tastes and prices from pizza ,pasta , tagliata and many more . The staff was very friendly and helpful both times we went and of course if you want the expert's opinion, Patrick is there to guide you through all the regions of Italy's wine roads and to recommend you the right wine for the food you have ordered. A wonderful place that you must visit when you go to Rome. Our last night , we ordered lasagna ragout , rigatoni ragout , tagliata and a caprese for salad. The food was delicious and we also tried two excellent wines, Barbaresco and an Chianti classic grand reserve from Patricks' recommendations We will definitely go back to our next visit to...
Read moreAfter travelling for about ten hours (car, plane and bus), all four of us were very thirsty and hungry. Initially we only intended to have a drink here, no problem for the waiter. The apérols were very good. Some time later we decided to eat here as well. We started of with a plate of apetizers, cheese and meat. Again tasty typical Italian food. For the main course three of us had the carbonara, very good ! When I ordered the pizza patta negra, this was in fact focaccia bread with cold mozarella, patta negra and rucola. I personally expected a pizza with melted warm mozarella. The waiter must have seen my dissapointment and returned my plate, the chef turned it into a pizza for me! Thanks for this intervention, waiter and chef. This is the kind of service that is rarely seen nowadays. I always feel ashamed if something like this happens to me. So in short this is very nive place to drink, to have apetizers, main course or dessert. Thanks for a pleasant evening to the whole "Astemio" team. Hope to see you...
