I have been a regular at this bar on Via delle Fornaci, close to St. Peter for three weeks, while doing research in ecclesiastical archives in the area. Every morning I would have the morning coffee plus il cornetto de rigueur, then a tramezzino. Everything is so fresh and mouth-watering! The assortment of cornettos, and especially the sandwiches - made just before your eyes. I would take a sip of my cappuccino and check my e-mails (the bar offers free Wi-Fi) and see that Signorello, the Boss, would prepare the tramezzinos of the day. Towards the end of my stay in Rome I even ventured - on two occasions! - to try a Prosecco or a Campari spritz. Absolutely deligthful! I felt like living a hot afternoon on my own veranda. What makes it a great place is not, however, the free Wi-Fi or the air conditioned, although they are important. The cheerful atmosphere the Boss would create by cracking a joke every now and then and the ladies, Signora overseeing the smooth running and Signorina, the Barista very fast and focused, who, with a sunny smile on her face, would interact with customers in a most pleasant way. Personally, I benefitted from some help with my poor rudiments of Italian. The team is what makes this bar so popular, and it was pretty obvious that not just local people would enter it, but also customers who, like me, would come again and again. Grazie...

Read moreI lived down the road for a month; and this was one of my favorite places to come to and hang out. The Wi-Fi is reliable, the prices are cheap, and the food is fantastic. I especially recommend the home made lasagna. Find out what day, and come early; it runs out fast! This is a great place if you have work to do on your laptop; good Wi-Fi, they don’t charge for table service, and they won’t run you out. Although I highly recommend the coffee and pastries! Come by a couple of times and all the staff will go the extra mile and get to know you. Makes for a great way to feel at home.
I highly...
