Quick: food was good but restaurant was very noisy and service was subpar.
To start off with the good, the food was great. Pizza was crispy, thin and delicious. I did think that the cheese overpowered the flavors. I like a good tomato taste. The pasta with minced meatballs was okay but it wasn’t as good as other places.
The restaurant was very loud when we went (sat inside). When we got there, we weren’t given water or a menu for 10 minutes. We saw a couple leave because their order was never taken. We saw many orders get taken to the wrong table or just wrong. They mixed our table and the table next to us up so they kept giving us their drinks/food and gave them our drinks/food. When our order finally got taken, our waiter was rude. There was a loud group of teenagers at the table behind us who were already done eating at just sitting there being noisy. They kept making a ruckus and one of them would not stop singing in a high pitch. It was very annoying and no staff said anything until we were ready to pay our bill.
This was just my experience, but it was not good. I wouldn’t recommend as there are better...

Most everyone is likely familiar with Italian food, but in my experience this has been transformed to somehow stand out in the cuisine of the foreign country. As such, it is easy to find here familiar dishes (for example fettucine al ragù, known elswhere as bolognese), that actually taste fresher and more delightful than the foreign ones. What's the secret? They use ingredients of good quality, which taste good (then the cooks don't have to dump a ton of garlic to provide some flavor).
The same can be said for the pizza: clean, simple, well executed.
They specialize in oxtail as an ingredient for a variety of dishes (pasta, pizza, soups). Highly recommended.
A handful of dishes did not fit exactly in the international Italian cuisine, but were not entirely different either. They are interesting variations worth of attention.
The house wine is also excellent, particularly the red.
This is a popular place, reservations are highly...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this lovely restaurant a year ago while in a Trafalgar Tour. We had 1 night on our own for dinner. After strolling the streets, we happened upon I Vaccinari and decided to take a chance. We are so glad we did! The food, the service, and the atmosphere were unbelievable. When we returned to Rome this year on our own, we knew I Vaccinari would be our first stop for food. The experience was even better than we remembered. We ate here 2 nights out of our 6 nights in Rome this time. The suppli is scrumptious. Their Caprese salad is the freshest, most savory we have ever had. We have eaten the Suppli, Ravioli Cacio e gricia, Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana, Bruschetta, Caprese di bufala and Pana Cotta. The atmosphere is cozy with a neighbourhood vibe. The staff are friendly and speak many different languages, which makes visitors feel at ease. We will always make this restaurant our number 1 stop when we are in Rome. Hopefully we will be back soon...we still need to...
