⭐☆☆☆☆ Dishonest Pricing – Took Advantage of My Mom and Other Tourists
This pizza place in Rome left a really bad taste in our mouths — and not because of the food.
We walked in for what seemed like a quick, cheap snack. The pizzas were laid out in front, and the sign clearly listed prices per slice. My mother, traveling with family and just trying to grab a few pieces, pointed to a few regular-sized slices — nothing huge or excessive.
But when it came time to pay, the total was far more than expected. That’s when they dropped the trick: the price was actually per 100 grams, and each slice had been weighed behind the counter. No explanation, no visible sign about the weight-based pricing, and no warning when the order was taken. Just a final price that made us feel completely scammed. ( 2 slices for $40)
We didn’t even sit down — this was meant to be a grab-and-go snack. But they still inflated the cost using a deceptive tactic that clearly preys on tourists. My mom was caught off guard and clearly upset, but the staff acted like this was totally normal. It was obvious they’d done this to countless people before.
If you’re visiting Rome, stay far away from places that don’t clearly display their pricing or explain how it works. There are so many incredible, honest food spots in this city — don’t let places like this ruin...
Read moreOne of the best pizzas I had here in Rome. And the prices were very reasonable. The prices of the pizzas are per 100g. We got potatoes and ham pizza and margherita pizza for €5. It was very tasty and filled my hungry belly. The store is located just outside of the wall of inner Rome, it made the prices more affordable than had it been on the inside. I didn't care for the atmosphere of the place, it was a cookie cutter takeout joint. The food, on the other hand, was great! The young man who prepared the pizzas was nice, friendly enough, and the pizzas tasted awesome....
Read moreAwful experience. I asked a person working if they had a vegan pizza, he offered me a pizza with mozzarella. After I explained I don't eat cheese as well, he offered another pizza which is just onion, olives and tomatoes.
I paid for the pizza and when he warmed it up and gave it to me I realized it was with tuna. I immediately told him this is not vegan, but he had no replacement options and he said he didn't want to give money back. He only appologized, but I remained both hungry and disrespected. Mind you, I do speak Italian so there was 0 mistake in...
