Caffè dello Studente — Restaurant in Rome

we went inside for eating a tiramisu, the woman inside asked if we want to eat here or take it away. we said we want to eat here, she gave utencils and what we asked for. we went to the table outside, an old woman came there literally yelling that we cant sit down. i dont understand anyway, because we bought food not only drinks and eating that literally takes a few minutes. she was talking to us like to a dog, dragged us inside, and asked to give the utencils back and gave plastic spoon for take away. i dont understand why we cant sit down when we bought food too, we came her specifically for sitting down because we have hours until our plane. mind you they had like 5 free tables and nothing going on in the street. we sat down next to this place and in those 10-20 minutes nobody came into the restaurant. the food is great but...

I read all of the 1 star reviews after i had just ordered a spritz and was worried.

They brought out some crisps and warm snack things and i thought they were going to charge me double.

Total bill was €8, €2 more than my spritz which is fine considering the service and snacks were welcome. If you dont want the extras just say so when they bring them. Its not rude just be polite about it.

They may have changed their act after seeing all the bad reviews - but i certainly didn’t think they were daylight thieves.

Double check the amount to pay against the prices in the menu! For some overpriced below average pizza (which had been prepared using a frozen base and subpar ingredients) they tried to sneak an extra 1.10€ onto the receipt. We recognized the mistake and the staff was quick to correct the receipt. Then they tried to charge us 4€ instead of 2.40€ for 2 espressi at the bar.
