Im left here seriously thinking that these positive reviews are fake accounts or something. This is literally the worst place Ive been in Rome. I can pretty much confirm that most these negative reviews are in fact true because the exact same thing happened to me.
First off they hustle you at the entrance like crazy to get you in there. The food order took about 30mins to arrive. My table was dirty. I witnessed the old lady waitress swipe off the table with her bare hands as her attempt of 'cleaning' it. Very gross. The pastry I ordered was the wrong order and when the real one came it was old and flakey. The pasta I ordered was even worse. The sauce tasted like off tomatoes. Not to mention the meatballs that went with it. The meatballs tasted as if it was boiled (slightly watery) and tasted quite bad.
When it was time to pay the old lady pretty much scammed me. The pasta and meatballs that I ordered were apparently 'separate dishes'. She did not explain that before hand. So i ended up paying 20 euros for the most disgusting pasta Ive had. She saw that I was quite upset so she tried to bribe me with a donut.
Please dont go to this place. Its set up as a SCAM from the beginning. THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER PLACES TO GO TO. Worst 45 euros ive spent. Food is trash and so is...
Read moreOur group of six were looking for a place to eat and were hustled into this place by someone who promised a free coffee, not that this was the determining factor. Once inside, we were met by a fairly indifferent waiter whom we had to call multiple times before he took our order. It took over an hour before we got our order! And to add to our frustration our waiter (owner?) was constantly eating something :-). The food when it finally arrived was good but at no point did anybody offer any expression of regret.
When we asked for our free coffee our waiter did not understand what we were talking about. He went into a fit when he found out that his marketing person had made us this promise. They gave us our coffee but he was seen gesticulating constantly at the guy who got us in. In general we felt extremely uncomfortable for having had this free coffee.
Then when it came time to pay the bill they first made all of us to give them a five star rating on Google reviews (which, needless to say I am changing now). We never got a proper itemized bill.
So in short the food was ok but everything else was not. Our bill for a group of 6 was 61 Euros...

My husband went to grab me a latte macchiato & espresso from this establishment while I was getting my son ready for a day of exploring the city. When he returned I tasted the latte macchiato and nearly spat it out. It was simple black coffee and maybe a teaspoon of milk…definitely not a latte macchiato. I tried to add 2 creams supplied from our hotel to help remedy the situation, but it was no good. When we were ready for the day, I took the drink back with the receipt and was going to ask them to fix it, but they were incredibly combative right away. They tried to tell me my husband ordered an American coffee and he most certainly did not, he said latte macchiato multiple times. There’s a clear difference. The man walked away from me while I was speaking and shrugged me off, so I demanded a refund on the spot. I received it in the most rude manner…he tossed the coins on the counter in my direction.
I sensed Xenophobia from the workers here, as they called my husband my “American friend” and sneered in his direction.
If you would like a better option for coffee, try Bar La Licata...
