I’ve spent the last 5 days in Rome and this was the best place to eat! Why? Feels like a very home made food, real and Authentic! No set menu, so perfect place to go in and see the food you are about to eat, unassuming but cute place. I had the best ossobucco ever and had to return another day for some excellent veal meatballs and hoping to return later today for another surprise menu, before heading back to Chicago. For the locals providing harsh reviews... Yes, it is not a Glass expensive ambiance (which I was there) but the food is authentic, the people seem proud of what they cook and made these tourist believe there is great food in Rome. Cantina style, you have a selection of dishes to choose from, usually meat or fish paired up with a vegetable dish. They also have some pasta dishes like lasagne.
Very good value at around €5-7 Euro’s.
Bread on the side is complimentary too.
Staff were accommodating and spoke English which I was grateful for with my limited Italian.
Perfect little stop off if you are getting of at Trastevere station from the airport or/and staying locally...
