Very odd place. Looks awesome, like a kitchen you come into, the menu is odd as there are no egg dishes per se as we expected but more French toast and bagels, bacon is prevailing in majority of dishes, smoothies that are actually milkshakes, I ordered the Olga which sounded and looked lush: French toast with scrambled egg, now what I expected to see was scrambled egg and French toast on the side. What I received was a French toast soaked in the maple syrup with egg in between two toasts and cream on the side, it tasted horrendous!!! Like a fish with existential crisis of whether it’s savory or sweet. On top of that: aircon was not on, bathroom had no towels or lights, in the end the guys asked us what we had while before they wrote everything down and asked for my name. What the point of asking for my name during order if you have to ask me again what I ordered when I pay? No clue. Overall I presume all raving reviews are coming from Americans who miss home food, for all Europeans with actual taste in food - stay away from this place, go somewhere else. Overall the worst breakfast experience in Rome. Pictures of French toast and “smoothies” are below. You can also see sunny side up eggs my husband “specifically requested” as they are not...
Read moreLove Love Love Homebaked Porta Cavalleggeri! It felt like I was dining in a family's kitchen with it's lovely staff and designed interior! I enjoyed having brunch here everyday on my visit to Rome after my Vatican City outings. The hosts were such beautiful souls and always welcomed me with open arms. The food is delicious! I had the American breakfast (very popular) everyday without bacon substituted with potatoes (my favorite) but noticed delicious wraps, smoothies, and cafe drinks. This place can get very busy since it's steps away from St. Peter's Square but service is very quick. Never the less, have patience and know your in good hands here. I also appreciate how you can take your time to enjoy the food and beverages and getup to pay when you are ready. They have ample seating inside and outside with inside seating having direct usb power outlets for recharging devices while dining and a mini library. Special thank you to Carolina (from Angelica) for her tenacity with managing it all with a wonderful smile! This place was a God send for me during my stay in...

Original review: Super overpriced food using the absolute cheapest ingredients known to mankind. If this is how grandma make breakfast, I would have rather starved. If you’re in Italy and are expecting some great cuisine, avoid this place.
Edit: the owner was not happy, and believes that I did in fact not eat very cheap toast bread with something that almost resembles cheese. He also likes to point out my spelling errors (thanks for the correction - English is my third language, so still learning). I’ve been in Italy since mid May, and can easily say that this is the worst breakfast served to me at a restaurant in this country. Last note to this is that the should be able to accept both good and bad reviews, otherwise I will ask for my girlfriend who visited you as well to make the...
