Feffo Caffe — Restaurant in Rome

In short: high rating is most likely from fake reviews, very high prices for table service. I would call this a tourist trap. Extremely high prices (five Euro for an Americano when served at the table). The fact that the place was empty and all the people were sitting at the place next door should have been a clear sign not to order anything here. I went to the place so my daughter could have breakfast, while my wife was queing to get to st Peter's, because of the good reviews (most reviews are from 1review profiles, so most likely fake). Got a call from my wife telling me to hurry up and ended up having an espresso "al banco" (at the counter) and a pastry to go and only ended up paying €1.20 for the coffee and 3 Euro for the pastry (no wonder why the waiter insisted for us to sit as soon...

🥪 Great spot just steps from St. Peter’s Square! Feffo Café is a pleasant surprise so close to such a touristy area. The place was not crowded at all when I visited — a big plus considering the massive flow of people nearby.

👨‍🍳 The service was excellent, especially from a gentleman who seemed to be of Indian origin — he was incredibly kind and attentive throughout my visit.

🍽️ I ordered a hot sandwich, and it was served exactly as requested. The lamb with yellow pasta was also delicious — flavorful and well-prepared. Overall, the food was very satisfying, with a calm and clean environment to enjoy it in.

I’ve had coffee and pastries there everyday for a week during my stay in Rome and the cappuccinos are very fine with the exactly correct proportion of espresso to foam with a delightfully smooth and rich flavor without any after toast of bitterness. I’ve only had the small, round berry pastry but it has a wonderful crisp crunch with yummy berries in the middle, it did not crumble apart like many other crisp pastries and was a pleasure to eat.
