I was amazed and very pleased by the experience from even before arriving to the restaurant! I made a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner a few months ago and due to the hour differing during the Holidays, the restaurant kindly contacted me to reschedule the hour so we could turn it into a Christmas Eve lunch! Even BEFORE arriving to the restaurant I received a confirmation email that everything was great and my party and I were expected at our reserved time without a problem, which I found very reassuring (first time visiting Italy in general). The restaurant is located in a nice streer, near St Peter Plaza, and the interior was cozy and very nice. The service was great! Our waiter, Alex knew Spanish so there wasn’t any issue communicating between Spanish and Italian, and made ordering quick and efficient. The food portions are great, they are filling and if you do have enough space you can order different options; we ordered the octopus as appetizer and two main pasta dishes which were flavors that we cannot try back home. Overall, for a family lunch (especially if you’re a tourist) it is a good option, the staff and service show professionalism and a nice attitude, and if you visit during the Holiday season the atmosphere is even much more cheery and merry.

The tomato and egg plant tagliolini tasted a bit bland, carbonara just so salty. What actually irritated us was how we got our table. Booked well in advance, still need to wait in line because the place is very small with less than 10 tables. Think they have accepted far more reservations than what they can cater for. We arrived with nobody waiting in line. We were 10 min earlier so were told our table was not ready unless we wanted to sit outdoor. It was so hot so we opted to sit inside and agreed to wait. Lateron, three ladies came without a reservation and were told to wait. We asked again 20 min later if our table is ready because we saw people leaving. At the same time another family of four with a reservation at the same time as we came. Another 15 min passed by, the three ladies were given a table the first followed by the family of four. We had to wait another 5min before we got our table. It is not FAIR at all though we have complained but they just ignored our grievances, maybe because we are Asain tourists and that is the treatment we got, huh... Overall experience is so so, won’t recommend it at all!

We spent an overnight in Rome on Tuesday, and when leaving, the Sistine Chapel got caught in a torrential downpour, including thunder and lighting. We had reservations at Ristorante Arlu for 19:30. They don't open until 18:30. We ran to their location... about 8 mins. They weren't open yet but were so kind and let us in to sit and have a beverage until they were all set. We had a great meal. Appetizers: Eggplant Parmigianina, aperal marinated salmon capacious with anaconda savory Panna cotta and mixed greens. Cabonaro and Rivoli with octopus sauce. Desserts: Lucia's tiramisu, cheesecake with mixed berries, crumbly pie with shantilly cream, and mixed berries. What a great authentic meal! I mostly want to mention how the staff was so welcoming. They truly embody the customer first attitude, and we were very grateful! This is a family Ristorante. Make reservations and enjoy all they have to offer. Copper had a great time and posed with a bunch of new friends. One minor note after all the accolades...there was eggshell in the Carbonaro...I'm sure this rarely happens.

I finally got to the review. We only came for two days and on my birthday we decided to have breakfast at this restaurant. The atmosphere on the terrace was wonderful, the staff was pleasant, the waiter with an earring in his ear was extremely polite, chatted with us and we loved the service. We took antipasti , my boyfriend was also advised to take pasta with truffle, I chose an octopus, I attach a photo on the website and a photo of the dish below. The pasta was spicy for me and I categorically did not like it, I did not feel the taste of the truffle, the octopus was well cooked and I liked the taste. Not considering that I ended up poisoned by this octopus. It was the only thing I ate that day, I felt sick two hours after breakfast and as a result, I spent the evening of my birthday in the room in a terrible condition taking all possible medications. Impressions are spoiled, the mood is terrible. Two stars are set for a delicious aperol and excellent staff who left at least something bright. Be careful when ordering octopus in this place.

We had lunch and dinner at Arlù. We were absolutely impressed with the exquisite food and the service was superb. Valentina was amazing! We had chicory and octopus for starters and homemade vegetarian pasta and fettuccini al pesto. My husband ordered the Black Forest dessert and everything was made to perfection! We returned for my birthday and were impressed again! This time, Anastasiia took care of us. We ordered Greek salad, sautee chicory and beef cooked for many hours in a reduction sauce of balsamic and red wine! Not only impressed but also more than happy! We will return before we leave Rome! I need to comment on the good energy among the staff. They all have a smile, are cordial and pay attention to detail and the needs of the guests. I highly recommend Artu in Rome for high quality meals and friendly atmosphere!

I've starred this restaurant near the Vatican as one of the top ones I wanted to try. We came here around 1:30pm and it took about 15 minutes for us (a group of 3) to be seated. The service felt a bit all over the place. Although, i cant blame them. There were like 2-3 servers rushing in and out on a full lunch service. They are understaffed so it took forever for us to order and be served. The food, although pretty delicious , was way pricey for what it was. The tuna i ordered was about €28 for 6 pieces. The portion sizes were small for the price they were selling it for compared to other restaurants. Im not sure if it's because of the proximity to the vatican but that's something you should consider before dining here. In any case, it was an ok lunch service. The restaurant is not perfect but the heart is in there.
