We were staying next door and got lazy so ate here. Nicely set up outside and waitress was very good. Manager(owner) not so with an earbud in one ear and focus elsewhere. He did suggest a decent wine(with appropriate price) from a wine list that was years old and had many of their offerings crossed out and those still available with their original prices crossed out and a new one written in. Would be better with just a printed single sheet of paper with what they did have. We had a bruschettas(2 tomato, 1 tuna, 1 olive), nothing flash. Scampi risotto, 2 scampi and very plain tomato sauce taste, no zest. The cannelloni was too dry for my liking and again, plain. The tiramisu had an image of a 3 layer cake in the menu. We go a dish of some sweet creamy substance with cocoa powder on top, no layers. But this was the second disappointment we’d had ordering this desert another restaurant. Maybe the Italians in Sydney crank theirs up a bit more than the Romans! Basically an ambient set up, nice waitress(not busy enough for 2) but ordinary food. I can’t see the bottles of Don Perignon in his wine fridge moving anytime soon. Much better food available steps away. And they don’t hit you with with 15% service fee. As long as it went to the waitress I’m happy, but I think “earbud bossman” would be taking his...
Read morePlease read the 1 and 2 star reviews on Trip Advisor and here before going to this restaurant. The guy trying to get you inside is talking about how good scores they have on Trip Advisor. The overall score does not represent the quality of the food. The pizza dough was the worst I've eaten in Italy. It was really bad. My wife and I both agreed on that. Like a very cheap supermarket pizza. Very dry (like someone already commented like dried bad tortilla dough). It destroyed the whole experience for us dining there. The prices are way to high for such quality of food. Before trying the pizza I thought about ordering pasta and desert too. After trying the pizza we didn't order anything else.
They charged us for service 15% (mandatory) even though my wife said that they told us there's no service charge trying to convince us to eat at their restaurant. I wouldn't have left a tip after such a meal. And we leave tips 90 percent of the time eating at restaurants. Would never come back and I strongly advise everyone to read the bad reviews before deciding. Very disappointed hoping for having another good Italian meal, but not at...
Read moreThis restaurant is located in Trastaveres a quick 10 minute walk across the Tiber River from Rome. Where we wondered along very beautiful streets.
They were open late on a Tuesday night as we walked around the region. The owner was very kind and invited us in. The food was fresh, delicious and the portions perfect. We had appetizers, soups, salads, our pasta and limoncello.
I read some reviews where they complaint about service being slow. That was not our experience. I found it to be perfect. Music was low and in the background so we could enjoy our conversation, no one was hovering over us while we ate to see if the food was good or if we were done. Italians give you your time to enjoy your evening and your meal in peace.
There is NOT one place in Italy where you will eat fast. You are here to enjoy and absorb the environment, the culture the food you should not be in a rush. If you are looking for fast food you should...
