Ristorante Zonwa Roma — Restaurant in Rome

We been in Italy for a month, craved Chinese food. Unfortunately we stopped here rather than walking a bit further for a higher rated restaurant. we visited during slow tourist season, mid week, the restaurant had a few customers seated, it was far from crowded. We ordered, waited 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The server brought my order, but no rice. Unfortunately we waited 20 additional minutes for the RICE, and my husbands order. The dish I ordered was cold by the time the rice arrived. A good server would check in with the kitchen to track his orders, great service would never be timed like this! To add to the insult, a large party of 6 Asian men were seated and ordered 1/2hour after we ordered. Several courses and bowls of rice were delivered to these men 10 minutes after they ordered! The servers were very attentive to this party, and refused to look our way when we tried to get their attention to ask about why our food was taking so long! The party of men were smoking cigars by the time my husbands food arrived. When our check came, we were charged for desserts we did not order! I asked the cashier to cancel and re-run the credit card with the correct amount, she refused and offered us “free tea” after we had finished our meal. I insisted our money be returned, and mentioned I would write a negative review warning other patrons about our experience- at that point she gave me the cash refund. I had an amazing time at this place, it made me feel happy and at home, and the food deliciousness added to the hype, coming into this beautiful place I was met by a beautiful aroma, it made me understand why so many celebrities have been here. Not only that upon entry you would be met by this amazing man who goes by the name of Fokh, he is very kind and open, he always checked up on me and when I couldn’t come to get my food he brought it all the way to my apartment, thank you again if you ever see this I will never forget that. NON lo consiglierei! insieme al mio compagno siamo due cultori appassionati di cucina cinese ed asiatica, che mangiamo settimanalmente da anni a Roma dove viviamo , e siamo rimasti davvero molto delusi...per essere un ristorante in centro città, l'ambientazione vale ben poco, ha un aria pasticciata e poco pulita, ma questo sarebbe il meno, arrivi e chiedi di se possibile di avere un tavolo in pedana esterna, e te lo negano, perchè non hanno voglia di sparecchiare, e cominciamo MALE direi...in bagno mancano anche le salviette per asciugarsi le mani, le chiedi al personale e ti danno di malagrazia due tovaglioli dal bancone, il menù tablet è scritto metà cinese, metà italiano...ti districhi, chiedi info e finalmente all'invio dell'ordine rimani bloccato...ti alzi nuovamente, vai a chiedere lumi e il cameriere, ( uno piu sgradevole e maleducato dell'altro, affatto disponibili nè accoglienti) ti dice candidamente che ci vuole il PIN ...che però ha solo lui...allora si fà prima con il menu cartaceo!!!! il cibo per mia esperienza è a livello basso, o salato o insipido, ed i prezzi sicuramente SALATI rispetto alla media! Senza aria condizionata, con il servizio di bicchieri tutti spaiati come i tovaglioli, insomma un ristorante molto arrangiato , che si dà delle arie che decadono subito, con personale sgradevole e poco attento, con poco pubblico cinese in prevalenza, e qualche malcapitato turista dalla faccia perplessa...se posso consigliarvi, sulla stessa strada, cè un ottimo ristorante cinese di livello che si chiama Mifang, e che frequento con soddisfazione da almeno 25 anni...e che vi consiglio assolutamente, per gli stessi prezzi mangiate di qualità, con personale gentile e competente...ma Zonwa...è DA EVITARE assolutamente! alle volte la curiosità di cambiare gioca brutti scherzi e...
