Our last meal in Roma turns out to be the best meal in Roma.
Either by London standard or Chinese standard or North America standard, this restaurant definitely comes at the top when it comes to Chinese restaurant. I can say this as I grew up in China, lived in Canada for over 10 years and in UK for over 7 years.
Traveling in Roma I realize you can’t just look at good reviews when it comes to selecting a restaurant, you need to check out the bad reviews as well.
This is why I landed this place as I can tolerate slightly longer wait but not bad food or bad services. I was a bit traumatized due to some of my recent restaurant visit as a tourist. Most were quite disappointing.
To my surprise, the service, the food, the decorations were all to perfection tonight when I visited the place.
Upon arriving at the place, waiter greeted me with smiles and we were asked which seats we would like to sit, after we sat down, they quickly brought us some pickle cabbage and traditional Chinese seaweed salad and said they were complementary.
Just because they were free doesn’t mean they were not good, quite the contrary, they were very fresh and tasty, cabbage was crispy and refreshing with proper amount of sourness and the seaweed was properly seasoned and flavorful.
Very quickly they bought us water and took our order. The restaurant was not busy but still quite a few tables of guests. These didn’t impact their quality of service, I got excellent services the whole time.
Unlike the other review, our food also came very quickly and they were absolutely delicious. We literally speechless and wonder why we didn’t find this gem earlier!
The steam pork ribs, the beef ho fan, the beef brisket noodle all cooked to perfection and we loved them. All dishes were lovely and came at great portion. The plates were huge that’s why in comparison you might not find it showing good portions. The pot of tea was great too.
In the end, they brought us 6 good portion watermelon slices which were nicely chilled, fresh and tasty. Again, complimentary on the house. What more could you ask for.
The toilet was clean, the decorations were fine dining. The seats were leather and very comfortable. The price was very competitive and reasonable, especially I have looked at the portion and tasted them.
This was a perfect visit to us and again the best meal we had in Roma.
Only sad thing is we didn’t come at this place sooner, truth to be told, we were quite close at choosing another one and missing this gem.
I am wholeheartedly recommending this restaurant especially if you are Chinese or anyone craving for Chinese food - you wouldn’t be disappointed.
This is a recommendation after money wasted at quite a few awful restaurants in Roma as a tourist and you are welcome!
FYI, bill came at €43 for 2 adults...
Read moreWe had a day trip in Firenze-Pisa and our train arrived in Rome at 11pm. During that time, we were already starving and persistently searching for an open restaurant - specifically Asian (because we had enough of pizza & pasta lol). Google-search brought us to a restaurant in the street where Mifang is, only to find out that it is already closed when we got there (around 11:30-ish). And so we went back to Mifang - which we saw passed-by earlier, and we were warmly welcomed! Even though it seems that they are almost closing / or closed for that matter, but there is still one customer enjoying her noodle soup.
We ordered our food - just in time for the final order. They didn't even let us feel that they are on a rush to close for the day as they tend to our requests. We enjoyed the food so much as if it's our first time having a good Chinese meal lol!
We had yang zhou fried rice, wonton soup, xiao long bao, char siu, and kung pao chicken - All 10 out of 10! Not because we are very hungry but the food is really good lol!!
Will definitely go back to this place for my Asian food cravings...
Read moreGood and authentic chinese food. Thumbs up for the plating too, felt that I was transported back to China.
Food was good, comparing to other chinese restaurants in the Europe, the flavours here are above average. Menu selection was quite large as well, I liked that most of the offerings were not spicy Szechuan cuisine which most chinese restaurants here tend to focus on.
Price wise, it was very affordable as well and the portion was quite generous. We spent about 120 euros for five people and super full from our meal.
Service could be better, the restaurant seemed to be understaffed so you’ll have to ask a few times for something. Also, definitely recommend to make a reservation before coming. We managed to get a table through walk-in when the restaurant just opened for dinner, but the restaurant is packed full of customers in about...
