At the beginning I was wondering whether to write this review from the perspective of an ordinary guest or from the perspective of a person who(as well as her family) had to do with the profession of gastronomy. After some time, I realized that it didn't matter at all, because it was the same in both cases.
Living every day as an ordinary consumer, in the rush of weekly affairs, people stopped paying attention to the kitchen. We eat in a hurry, but without any taste. Often forgetting that breakfast, lunch and dinner are not only the act of eating, but also an experience - an opportunity to slow down, enjoy and, more importantly, spend time with your loved ones in a friendly atmosphere. Especially when visiting a completely new place or another country, it is also a way to learn about local tastes and culture.
This is exactly what happened when I visited Rome and thanks to my sister, I came across this place. To describe the entire experience, using words like outstanding, unique and unparalleled would be an extreme understatement. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that in my native language, English or even Italian, there is currently no word that can describe its magnificence. Perhaps this will change in the future.
The food was the absolute quintessence of Italian cuisine at the highest level - prepared with full care, attention to detail and the enormous talent of the chefs working there - to whom we often expressed our greatest gratitude and appreciation. I could easily say that I tried over half of the dishes on the menu and each one exceeded my wildest expectations. Rigattoni a'la Carbonara and delicate and sweet Tiramisu were the most memorable ones because they were the first dishes I tried. I chose them especially as they are probably the most local dishes without which a visit to Rome would not be complete and I am extremely happy that I had the pleasure of tasting them and at a very affordable price.
The atmosphere is something that I can't put into words, no matter how much I want to and no matter how hard I try. A pleasant and calm atmosphere, but devoid of any snobbery, in an elegant and subtle space in which the guest feels incredibly at ease, regardless of whether he comes alone or in a larger group. I won't even mention hygiene and cleanliness, because they are at the highest level, but what I must mention are the music evenings that take place on Fridays (and Saturdays, if my memory serves me right). The most iconic Italian hits are a beautiful diversification of the experience, during which we also had the pleasure of getting to know the guests from the next table.
However, all this, despite its enormous, almost unbelievable grandeur, pales in comparison to the service, which even I find hard to describe with this word. Because being a foreigner, in a foreign country, visiting this place - I found new friends. It is their incredible kindness, hospitality, professionalism, diligence and smiles that make this place so unique and are the foundation on which the success of this place is based.
Before coming to Italy, I had only heard about the famous Italian hospitality and atmosphere, and today - I feel honored and privileged to say that I experienced this greatness. It got to the point where I no longer felt like a guest there, but like a family member. And the truth is that even to this day, I cannot express not only my immense joy, but also my full gratitude to my new friends: Luca, Michael, Antonio, Christiano, Simona, Andrea, Mauricio. If you are reading this, I cannot tell you how grateful I am and all I can say is that I feel honored to meet you, because thanks to you, my lifelong dream of seeing Rome with my own eyes has come true so joyfully and memorably.
If it were up to me, this place would not only receive a Michelin star, but would also be included in every single document in existence as a perfect example of the very essence of Italy and the heart of this country. You have to experience it yourself, because life itself, lived without visiting this place,...

We were welcomed at the entrance with a cheerful smile. For a moment, we thought we were in for a great experience. Spoiler: we weren’t.
From the moment we were seated—alongside all the other Asian guests conveniently grouped near the exit—the difference in treatment became painfully obvious. While Western (white) tourists received friendly greetings, careful service, and dish names clearly announced, we were met with silence, our food dropped off without a word, and no offer of table-side payment.
We even made the effort to speak polite Italian to show respect, but it made no difference. Apparently, fluency in English and basic manners weren’t enough to earn the same courtesy.
And just when we thought the experience couldn’t get more blatant, it did: as we left, we watched every staff member warmly send off the white guests at their tables—with smiles, “ciaos,” and “thank yous.” Not a single word or glance was offered to us as we walked out.
Oh, and the carbonara? Far too salty—though not nearly as salty as the service.
Tourists shouldn’t have to pay to be reminded of their race. Racism is bad enough. Racism served with a side of...
