TLDR 🌟 Costly and somewhat challenging to access, but 100% worth it for the unbeatable Trevi Fountain views, top-notch service, and a peaceful escape from the crowds ✌️
As we looked around for a place to kick back and relax near the Trevi Fountain, we noticed a woman outside holding a small sign advertising a rooftop with views. Intrigued (and honestly desperate to escape the shoulder-to-shoulder sweaty crowds 🥵) we went inside to check it out ✅
Finding it wasn’t exactly straightforward—stairs to an elevator, more stairs, and then around a nondescript corner—but once we arrived, we found it to be a good choice. Basically Trevi Rooftop Bar feels like one of those ultimate travel hacks 🪄 stunning views of the fountain without the chaos below ✨
Now, here’s the catch: the prices are steep 🫣 Cocktails start at around €25 each, with beer, wine, and mocktails priced on the higher end as well. We would have ordered some food, but it was even more costly for small servings 😳 It became clear right away what their strategy is—offer an unbeatable view, make sure guests enjoy it, but keep turnover moving by setting the bar high (literally and figuratively). And honestly, it worked! ⛲️
That said, the service was excellent 🙌 Servers tracked arrivals and departures carefully, rotating guests into the best spots as tables freed up, so everyone got their moment with the view. They also offered complimentary small bites—refilled generously throughout our stay—which made the price tag feel a little more justifiable 👏
We ended up laughing and chatting with fellow travelers, soaking up the view, and never once felt rushed out even though we just got one cocktail each. For us, it was exactly the kind of break we needed in the middle of a busy sightseeing day 😍 If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stop, this isn’t it 🚫 But if you want an escape from the madness with excellent service and one of the best vantage points in Rome, Trevi Rooftop Lounge is absolutely worth...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but this place was a huge disappointment. The food was mediocre at best – nothing memorable, just average. Prices are outrageously high: €20 for a pizza and an unbelievable €12 for a Coke.
The real problem, however, was the service. When a table on the balcony with a view of the Trevi Fountain (clearly the main attraction of this restaurant) became available, the waiter gave it to guests who had arrived much later than us. When I questioned this at the end while paying, the staff tried to justify it by saying their order was “registered in the system” one minute before mine – which makes no sense, considering there were only about 5 tables occupied. It was nothing but a poor excuse.
On top of that, they attempted to pressure us into leaving a tip, which after such treatment was simply insulting.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. The food is overpriced, the service is unprofessional, and the entire experience left a very bad impression. There are far better places in Rome where you’ll be treated with respect and not taken...
Read moreThere are so many great things to say about this place! We came in on a whim, and were greeted by the most friendly people! Once at the top, the view was magnificent. We went a little earlier than usual and got the place to ourselves for about an hour… and it was all around magnificent! We got a drink recommendation that wasn’t on the menu (a gin raspberry cocktail, which was delicious in its own right), and many fun treats throughout the evening from chips and olive to quaint charcuterie board, and bruschetta. There are so many great things to say about this place… let alone the view you get from up here! Gets you away from all the hustle and bustle of the streets and provides a one of a kind view. We certainly recommend it for anyone and everyone! Will be sure to be back in the future. Also- PSA for any confused traveler (as we were)… the lounge is inside the Hotel Fontana, right across from the...
