Our group of 50 people dined at the restaurant on October 21st of this year. The staff was friendly, although having only one server for 50 people seemed insufficient. However, this didn’t pose a significant problem.
The carbonara was well-prepared, and everyone in the group was satisfied with it. Unfortunately, the main course left much to be desired. Regarding the chicken breast. Approximately 15-20 people received undercooked cutlets. Some of the thicker pieces were raw in the middle or cold, which is a serious food safety concern. Roasted vegetables: Almost everyone received cold vegetables. They were likely frozen, which isn’t an issue in itself, but they weren’t properly heated before serving. Potatoes: This part of the dish was satisfactory.
We understand that restaurants often use frozen products, which is an acceptable practice. However, proper preparation is crucial. In this case, the serving of undercooked cutlets was particularly concerning as it poses a health risk to customers. We appreciate the friendly service and the tasty first course, but the quality and preparation of the main dish significantly lowered the overall impression of our visit. We hope the restaurant will take these comments into consideration to improve the quality of their services in the future. Using frozen products for meal preparation isn’t inherently wrong, as long as they are...

My partner had the Margarita Pizza, at first she thought she was not going to be able to finish it all, however, the crust was light and the toppings perfectly balanced, this was easily her favourite Pizza during our 3 weeks in Italy. I had the Sausage Calzone. 10 out of 10. Light crust, perfect fillings. Did not leave me feeling overly full as I was able to continue a day of sight seeing in Rome.
The staff member who served us was absolutely outstanding dealing with my fumbling attempts at speaking Italian and provided us with exemplary service.
If I ever visit Rome again, Sangio’ L’Antico Forno is on my list to make sure...
Read moreFunny how you often find your favorite restaurant on the last night of a trip—and for us in Rome, that place was Sangio' - L'Antico Forno.
We tried several good spots during our visit, but this one stood out as our absolute favorite. Located just across the street from the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, it felt like a true hidden gem—far from the typical tourist scene.
The spaghetti carbonara was the best I’ve ever had: perfectly creamy, beautifully balanced, and not the clumpy mess you sometimes get elsewhere. The pastry selection was equally impressive—an array of stunning, delicious options that looked almost too good to eat (but we’re glad we did!).
We’re already dreaming of our return to Rome—and when that happens, Sangio' - L'Antico Forno will be at the top...
