Sofio Cafe — Restaurant in Rome

Sofio Cafe and Sofio Pizza are the same place with two sections, one serving pizza and the other ice-cream, coffee and light snacks. My review is of Sofio Pizza. Situated between the main road of trastevere and the river Tiber. Walking distance from hotel Ripa Roma where we stayed at, is the first place we went to to eat and I can only say good things about this place. The staff were very friendly and catered for all our needs. They could identify us as Muslims and offered us only vegetarian pizzas. Not only that, they used clean pizza cutters to avoid contamination. Pizzas are pre made and sliced and heated to order. There are sitting area outside of the cafe/pizzeria. If you are after a quick bite and can't handle a whole pizza (trust me, Italian pizzas are huge and you eat them with knife and fork) then give this place a try. If on a Sunday, then you can visit the flea market which takes place on the very street...

Decent pizza, worst service in town. The man who works the counter at the pizza shop is the rudest service person I've ever encountered. We used to come at least twice per week (because we live in the building and our son loves the pizza) but we finally couldn't deal with the hostility and disrespect (example - heats up pizza that is not what we ordered then tells us we have to pay for it, even though he misheard us; suddenly decides he only takes cash when we have only credit cards and pay with credit cards every time we go). If you like a side of abuse with your pizza, this place is for you. Otherwise, there are many better choices in the neighborhood that will treat you well and appreciate...

DO NOT GO HERE, TOURIST SCAM. They sell pizza by weight (standard in Italy) - on the pizza scale it clearly said 4.70 euros. The woman came out after talking to the man who weighed my pizza, she said "15euros". I was surprised and asked for the price again, which she confirmed confidently. It was my first time ordering pizza by weight in Italy and I wasn't going to argue with the woman. I ordered pizza again in the city and they told me that I was scammed by the woman from this shop. My second pizza order was 4.50euros for the same amount. The woman from Sofio Pizza charged me three times more.
