Somo — Restaurant in Rome

I wish I could give this place more stars. Like some reviewers mentioned, they (still) send over a complimentary mini sandwich. Great presentation. I stayed in Rome for little over a month, and this was the restaurant I went to on my second and last nights in the city. Since I had to work at night, I would order take-out most times. Everything I tried from there was fabulous, whether I was able to sit there and enjoy it or had to pick it up. Once, I misunderstood whether they had gotten my take-out order and they were good enough to call and let me know that my food was ready. Honestly, since I was visiting and still struggling with the language, most of the restaurants in Rome were intimidating to me. But I could always count on this place to give me a great meal. What a incredible dining experience! I truly did not expect this to be my new favorite japanese restaurant in Rome. I visited on Friday night with a friend and the atmosphere was so relaxing yet fun. The food was delicious. We got a beautiful welcoming dish from the restaurant which was served by a very kind and professional waiter. We ordered the beef and salmon tartare. They were both amazing but the sorbet that paired with the salmon and the creamy avocado was just perfect. Then we had some rolls and my favorite was the pistachio salmon roll it was so unique and somehow sweet and warm. It may sounds strange but it is so worth trying. I changed my mind about the place and the owners when I stayed has a chat with them! the family really ungrateful and incorrect the menu very dear they do it for a purpose gain and little respect. the guy who works in the kitchen is the son of the owners and also called the chef of his restaurant, presumptuous and arrogant having bought followers makes him believe he has come to the point of offending. he would like to go for that he has a gastronomic and even working experience think about it if it's worthwhile there are many restaurants in Rome that are much nicer, better and more professional!
