Read moreTOURIST TAX! Tourists beware this place automatically charges 15% on your bill in addition to their seating fee. I went there with my partner and right away we both felt unwelcome. We were seated off to the side and completely forgot about. A server eventually came around and took our order. About 15 mins later we placed our order again with a different server. Our food came out and we hadn't yet received our drinks. Our drinks came out and they forgot our water. They were nice but it was obvious we were their last priority. The meal itself was small portion and mediocre. Maybe it's the way they do it at this restaurant, but my pasta was undercooked. It wasn't terrible but by far our worst meal and meal experience we had in Rome. Very disappointing. When they brought the bill out I noticed a charge. I did the math and found it was exactly 15% of the total. I asked the server what it was and she said it was a service fee and offered to remove it right away. We declined because we didn't want to be rude. After we discussed it and realized they probably don't charge this fee to locals, I decided I would get it removed. When paying, I again asked what it was for and the manager told me it was the tip. I told him the service was quite poor and he removed it instantly.
We are used to tipping in North America but it's never built into the bill and it's merit based. They were really nice about it but the whole thing felt very sneaky and rude. Rome has too many nice restaurants to spend your time here if you are a tourist.
I will say my partner's gluten free pasta was pretty good, at least better than my...

Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, decorated with rustic Italian decor that instantly transports you to Italy. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about gluten-free options and are more than willing to guide you through the menu.
I started my meal with the bruschetta, made with perfectly toasted gluten-free bread topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. It was a refreshing appetizer that whetted my appetite for the main course.
For the entrée, I chose the gluten-free pasta basilico e pomodoro. The pasta was cooked to perfection, al dente, and tossed with a vibrant array of seasonal vegetables, all lightly sautéed in garlic and olive oil. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and I appreciated that the restaurant uses high-quality ingredients that make the dish truly shine.
To top off my meal, I couldn't resist trying the gluten-free tiramisu. It was a heavenly conclusion to my dining experience, rich and creamy, with just the right amount of coffee flavor.
