We had time to kill before our flight out of Rome so we stopped by a few places to snack and drink. We started out hopping at this place at around 1030 and man did we find a gem! Place is awesome! Amazing beers on tap, great service, great seating for our family of 5. Lots of families were coming in to just have a beer and takeout food. Food was great and ambiance was perfect. Loved the music! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Also, there’s a kids park really close, so let the kids play before you hit your next drinking spot.

Attratta dalle buone recensioni ho deciso di passare un tranquillo pranzo della domenica in questo bar/pub/caffetteria... Peccato che di tranquillo c'era ben poco, partendo dal servizio pessimo, il ragazzo ai tavoli era da solo che girava come una trottola a tutti i tavoli dimenticandosi delle commesse e dei commensali. I due ragazzi dietro al bancone che non lo aiutavano per niente e i tavoli fuori erano tutti occupati e c'era bisogno di manforte. Il bagno non ne parliamo, poco pulito, e sicuramente lasciato cosÏ com'era dalla sera prima. Il Sapone per lavarsi le mani mancante. Il cibo servito era discreto quasi immangiabile a seconda del pezzo di patata al forno che si addentava. Ma la chicca finale è stato il caffè rovesciato sul tavolo nel servirlo che purtroppo è andato anche a finire sul jeans chiaro. Il ragazzo si è mezzo scusato, ha cercato di aiutarmi a sistemare il danno ormai irreparabile anche con l'acqua gassata e bicarbonato.... Dopo l'accaduto oltre al caffè offerto mi sarei aspettata forse che mi offrissero il pranzo, dato che ora mi tocca spenderne altrettanti in lavanderia e molto probabilmente non andranno via le macchie. Uno dei ragazzi del bancone dopo l'accaduto è uscito dalla sua postazione per commentare la vicenda con gli altri commensali, come se nulla fosse successo. È stato un gesto davvero carino da parte di questo locale, assicurarsi che gli altri stessero bene ma non la sottoscritta. Complimentoni!!!

Lively and fun in the front and quiet inside.A great place to work remotely. It’s my go-to in Rome for the last five years. Where else in Rome can you hear Zoot and Lyle Lovett on the playlist?

I'll always love Big Star. I first went here when I was 21 on a trip. I had little money, so ate the aperitivo and fell in love with the barmaid who would sit with me every day in her bell-bottom trousers and ask what I was writing, but who also had a boyfriend. I would go on every trip to Rome since. It felt like a community spot – always buzzing and friendly. I'm 29 now, and the last time I visited Rome it felt like it lost something, a bit of its soul (this is happening all over Trastevere). The outdoor seating has changed and is less spontaneous. The staff, of which there were always just 2 and now like 4, don't seem that welcoming, especially if you're foreign. Four stars for my memories and nostalgia, but I don't know Big Star anymore. Would love to know what happened to that barmaid though, I heard she...

Was my fav bar, i used to bring friends from all over the world here. But today we were served a burger that was practically raw inside. When I said it was inedible, the lady at the “cassa” said “they get them like this from a provider”, that the burgers are precooked, that it’s not their fault that it was crapy and that we have to pay for it anyway.

On the side note, a warm appetizer and burgers were served at the same time, so the burger was RAW AND COLD by the time we got to it 🤢

Finally, both of the ladies who served tables, looked very untidy.

Thank you Big Star for the fun nights all these years, and for one of the best birthday parties I had in my life. It was good till...

After 9 days of yummy Italian food & wine we were ready for a little break from pasta and Chianti. Big Star really hit home. Their funky, hip spot was a breath of fresh air. The atmosphere was awesome and they played some great music. We enjoyed delicious, local craft beers and food that reminded us of home. We shared the nachos and they were delicious. (The hot-sauce was a little strange, would ask for it on the side next time) I would definitely recommend Big Star if you're in the mood for a craft beer and some...
