Unfortunately our experience in Ombre Rosse was not as positive as many of the reviews here. We visited this evening and as the restaurant was busy we agreed to sit outside beside a heater. The weather was cold but as we were next to the heater it was fine. About ten minutes after our arrival one of the waitresses bumped into the heater and it went out. We could feel the cold immediately but decided to give them a chance to fix it. On different occasions the three tables near us all mentioned to various staff about the heater and could it be turned on again. One said she would make it hot again in a few minutes. Another said they were waiting on the guy who knows how to do it. Again, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. At this stage our main course was finished. Finally I mentioned it to the waitress and politely explained how cold it was and although I would love a dessert, I wouldn't be able to stay and have one in the cold. Finally she tried to fix it and soon enough a guy (who had been there all along) came out to have a look. He couldn't work it. This seems like a small complaint but it took away from the experience for the tables outside in this area. We were so cold and uncomfortable we couldnt enjoy our food and drinks. It was clear that the staff were too busy or didn't know how to turn on the heater but instead of being honest and admitting that, they continued to pretend that something would be done about it. There was no apology, just said it can't come back on.

I ordered the ravioli which was fine. My boyfriend ordered a hamburger which was very average. I wouldn't be rushing back here, don't recommend and felt it was...

A wonderful place to spend the evening with friends! The location is beautiful – set on a hill with a cozy and charming terrace that offers a great atmosphere. Although we couldn’t get a table outside, we were pleasantly surprised by the indoor seating. The terrace doors were open, so we still felt like we were sitting outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and the view.

There was a DJ playing during our visit, which created a fun and lively atmosphere without being overwhelming. It really added to the overall vibe of the place and made the evening even more enjoyable.

The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu had a nice variety and everything we tried was prepared with care. The staff was truly amazing: friendly, attentive, and professional. As a lovely touch, they even treated us to complimentary shots of limoncello at the end of our meal, which made us feel very welcome and appreciated.

We left feeling full, happy, and satisfied. This is definitely a spot we would return to and highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable evening in a beautiful setting with great food and a...

Cute small restaurant in Trastevere. Was a short walk from our Una hotel. Outdoor and indoor seating. We sat outdoors in a downstairs patio square area which was nice. Small dining area but intimate and hides the road well.

Menu is pretty typical for Rome. Craft cocktail menu was a standout. We kept it simple with 2 Spritz. Ordered the Caprese for starters, was good, fresh and light. Used cherry tomatoes which was unusual but fine. Was dressed well but needed more salt, more cheese and more basil and I would have preferred a touch more balsamic. My wife had the ravioli for dinner which was amazing. The filling was delicious, seasoned well. Red sauce was very creamy, highly recommend. I had the carbonara which was good, pretty typical although pork was more like bacon vs guancale. Tiramisu for dessert was inspired! Really outstanding, one of the best Tiramisu I've ever had. Served in a large coffee cup, chocolate was velvety smooth, tons of lady finger chunks throughout the bowl, a clear winner in my books.

Service was excellent. Giulia was a standout, very welcoming, always smiling.

We will...

We didn’t have the best experience here. We had information that it opened at 5, google maps said 5:45. We got there about 5:30, they opened at 6pm, let 15-20 people in at once and then ignored us for 15 minutes before taking any drink orders and mostly acted like it was a burden. We had spent most of the day touring and it’s quite a walk uphill so we weren’t thrilled by the service. We also missed out on the appetizers tray because by the time we ordered, we decided to order drinks and dinner. We were staying by the Pantheon and it was a good distance to walk. The food was good. The downstairs patio was closed and the upstairs had uncomfortable chairs and tiny tables sitting on gravel. We had a caprese salad, spaghetti carbonara, and ravioli with ricotta and spinach as well as two Aperol spritz and two glasses of wine. They did give us a limoncello each.

Thank you to Riccardo and Lorenzo for making our visit so amazing. We always have great service coming here, and as we were celebrating a birthday we really appreciated the attentiveness and recommendations. This is the 5th time I’ve visited Ombre Rosse, and it never disappoints. Every time we go to Rome, this place is a must-visit. If the weather is nice, their terrace setting is just the coziest and has a great view over Trastevere. The drinks are always perfect, and their carbonara is hands down the best we’ve had in Rome. Besides carbonara we shared their Tagliere di salumi e noci (platter with selection of assorted cheese and ham) and focaccia. Both were delicious and great for sharing. We also had the pinse bologna, which was so delicious. Couldn’t recommend this more!! 🙌🏼🌟
