After missing Scarpetta in Beverly Hills, my business partner and I were delighted to see Scarpetta NYC open in Rome!!! After doing some business in Dubai, we had a few days lay over in Rome so having heard that it was open we of course headed over. We had an amazing dinner. The seafood tower was unreal. If you love sushi, this is an absolute must. The tuna tartare was heavenly. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection and it paired amazingly with the Tuscan Old Fashion. Afterward, the executive chef Riccardo recommended that we go to the rooftop bar for post dinner drinks. We headed up to Charlie’s, which has amazing views and a great drink menu. Read moreWe had high hopes for Scarpetta, but unfortunately, our experience was so disappointing. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the service we received from our waiter, Andrew, was inattentive and dismissive.
We ordered the ribeye, and half of it was completely inedible (straight fat, no meat). When we brought it to Andrew’s attention, he showed no concern and offered no apology or solution. To make matters worse, he charged us for a side of potatoes even though they were supposed to be included with the ribeye.
The food quality didn’t justify the price (70 euros for supposedly a 10oz steak even though only 5oz of it was edible) and the lack of care from our server left...
