DISGUSTING SCAM - DELIRIOUS HIDDEN PRICES Don't ever go there, especially if you're a tourist. When we arrived at the restaurant, we asked the waitress what type of (finger) food we could have as an aperitivo with our cocktails (8 euros for a spritz). We were told we could choose between a mix of bruschettas and a plate of different cheeses. We chose the cheese plate, but asked for an extra bruschetta (2€) which we attended to pay additionally to our 2 spritzs and cheese (16€). Once we received the bill, we were asked to pay 30 euros instead of 20 !!! (Bread was 2 euros, which we did not really mind). They voluntarily tricked us into paying 10€ more than what we should have. Everything was clear from the beginning, I expressly explained the waitress what we were looking for (aka the typical aperitivo we can have everywhere in Roma !). So there was no misunderstanding here, she knew she was stealing from us but acted innocent. I obviously complained but finally paid this exorbitant price (which I really should have refused to pay, I profoundly regret this). To be short, this place is a huge scam and you should absolutely avoid it and go to other great places where you can have a complete aperitivo for 5 to 8 euros/person. 8 euros a spritz without any food (not even crisps) is more than doubling its original price. This is completely outrageous and dishonest. If I could, I wouldn't be giving any star to...
Read more4th trip to Rome and JUST found them. Better late then never, right. Wondering around my favorite, always cheerful Trastevere late night, I popped into a tiny wine bar for a glass of wine. Ended up staying for 3 and a meal. The atmosphere inside feels like a cozy hug, followed by a welcoming smile from my now favorite bartender in Trastevere - beautiful Maria. My Italian is in its infant stages, but I love and enjoy practicing, even though I know it must hurt the ears of poor locals. Not only Maria suggested a parade of most delicious local wines, cheeses, cured meats, Sicilian style onion jam I just could not stop eating, she patiently answered my imperfectly worded questions in Italian and in a speed comfortable for me. You know, the one, that would put most Italians to sleep. She was fantastic and made my first night back in Roma a very special treat. Grazie mille, Maria! Her colleague, Domenico was just as charming and engaging. I plan to return and return and return. Next time you are in Trastevere, make sure to visit this quaint local delight, and enjoy your evening with Maria and Domenico as...
Read moreCame here as it looks absolutely beautiful. Sat down to order wine and a snack on my own as I’m on a solo trip trying to grow my confidence. I tried to take a short video of myself (The restaurant was literally empty - I was the ONLY person there sat outside on my own - no other customers). When I looked back on the video the manager and staff were in the window making fun of me and screaming laughing. Made me extremely uncomfortable to the point where I asked the waitress if I should leave before she even brought me my food.
A real pity as the burrata was lovely and beautifully presented but I could not enjoy it as I felt extremely awkward and embarrassed.
The Gewürztraminer was okay - not great! Another pity.
Unfortunately will avoid and will not recommend as it made me so uncomfortable.
Also after this they asked me would I not like to leave a tip which I found very...
