Disrespectful Service Alert
During my recent visit to Rome, I had an experience at wanted that I feel compelled to share as a warning to fellow travelers. This review aims to shed light on the utterly unacceptable behavior I encountered, which left me feeling humiliated and disheartened.
From the moment my group and I entered wanted the atmosphere was far from welcoming. The staff's attitude towards us was shockingly impolite and dismissive. It felt as though they judged us solely based on our appearance, assuming we were of a lower economic status. This discriminatory behavior is beyond reprehensible and has no place in any establishment, especially one in a city as diverse and culturally rich as Rome.
The service we received throughout our meal was nothing short of disrespectful. The servers were unkind, barely acknowledging our presence, and neglecting our basic requests. Their actions made it abundantly clear that our patronage was neither valued nor respected.
What struck me the most was the humiliation I felt as we dined. It's disheartening to be treated as less than human simply due to one's appearance or perceived financial status. Rome is a city known for its hospitality, and it is a shame that wanted tarnishes that reputation with its abhorrent behavior.
It is my strong belief that such behavior warrants serious attention from the relevant authorities. Discrimination and disrespect should never be tolerated, especially in a place that caters to the public. It's not just an issue of customer service; it's a matter of basic human dignity.
In light of my experience, I implore others to reconsider dining at wanted. No one deserves to be subjected to such degrading treatment while trying to enjoy a meal during their travels. I sincerely hope that sharing this review will encourage both local and visiting patrons to think twice before supporting an establishment that condones disrespectful behavior.
Let us all strive to create a more inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment for everyone, regardless of their background. Remember, we have the power to make a difference through...
Read moreDon't go here. The service is some of the worst I've seen across the world. First of all, my boyfriend and I walked in and were seated by the server. He makes pleasant conversation and asks if we are American. We say yes and he's very pleasant and speaks English very well (I've taught ESL, I can tell). Then, two minutes later when he brings our water over, he addresses my boyfriend and says that he's coming to America in a few months and could my boyfriend suggest any girls to meet when he's over there? I just look at him and say no. Then a lemon seed falls out when I'm pouring from the ostensibly brand new bottle of water we just ordered. I'm not naive, I was already reasonably certain that reusing bottles is a common practice, but this was really blatant. The service was incredibly slow, yet only about twelve people were dining in his section. At the table next to us are two British girls. The waiter kept bringing them notes and kissing their hands. They were clearly uncomfortable. I'm also sure I saw his wife coming in and out. As other reviews mentioned, I also heard him tell several diners that pizzas couldn't be split and saw at least two groups walk out. At the end of the meal, he hadn't put everything on the bill. Then, he made a big show of saying that tip wasn't included. Yeah, buddy, I wasn't born yesterday, I am aware that it isn't common to tip in Italy and only then for exceptional service. Your service was anything but. The food was decent and the process weren't outrageous, but there are many better options in the area. Avoid this place and...
Read moreLast September, me and my mother stopped by this restaurant to have dinner. My mother went to the toilet while I was choosing a table. Restaurant was empty, not a single person, both in and outside, it was around 7pm. I sat on a double table. Waiter came and asked me to sit on a single table, since we were only two. I asked him why, since restaurant was empty and we would not stay long. He just answered "house rules". I speak a very good Italian and told him if I could not choose a table in an empty restaurant I would rather go. At this very moment, a woman who seemed to be also a waitress and was watching the conversation entered the restaurant. My mother came out after a while, she was told by this woman to leave the toilet cause she and I were not welcome. The woman entered the toilet telling her something, closed the faucet and meant to conduct her outside. My mother is a 70 year old woman who speaks no other language besides Portuguese. Despite this, she knows how to defend herself and told the woman not to touch her. She came out quite confused and a bit scared, started asking me what was going on and that we should leave cause she was getting nervous. The woman started speaking very loudly that we should move, I still stopped and asked why they were being so aggressive to us. At this time, another man came out and started to yell VA VIA VA VIA and sign for us to leave. I felt very very very bad for me and mostly for my mother, that was our first trip to Italy. Treatment was close to violent,...
