We looked at practically every menu in Sirmione and chose this restaurant to dine at - I wanted an authentic meal that served good quality, beautiful food. My husband has more simple tastes and was happy with the prospect of a pizza.
The staff were happy to oblige my request of a starter-sized pasta dish. Best pasta I've ever had.
I chose the duck breast for main. Again, probably the best I've had in my life. I opted for a side of potatoes - delicious. Would have made my meal if there was some veg on the plate. I could have ordered as a size but feared that would be too much food so I didn't. A small token of veg as standard would have been appreciated.
Husband was pleased with his pizza.
As I understand it, there is no wine menu - the staff are the wine list, using your likes and dislikes to present a few wines at varying price points for your choice. We appreciated their knowledge and settled for a nice bottle of red.
Tiramisu - you guess it, the best I've had in my life.
I don't want to sound dramatic, but the food really was superb. You have to try it...

I absolutely loved this unassuming little trattoria. It's quirky and cosy with a fantastic array of artworks. The tables are neatly contained with lots of private nooks - ideal for intimate couples, small families and solo travellers looking to hideaway and read.
The food was absolutely delicious - I was in carbonara heaven. Perfectly balanced, not too rich. Al dente pasta. The bacon was melt in the mouth. Also had the warm aubergine dish which was rich and flavoursome.
Service was quick and attentive. They're not going to make any overtures to you but with food this good, who cares. The restaurant was one of the best things about my stay in Sirmione.
Good stiff G&T comes...
Read moreSirmione as anyone might guess, is a lot of tourist traps. Al Boccondivino is not a trap and easily one of the very best here. Prices are good, and the food is well done! The Carbonara is spot on to the same you find in Rome - the guaciale slightly crunchy for the "bacon" flavor. The Cacio i Pepe has a great pepper bite but not overdone. Service was not fast by American standards, but easily fits how Italian restaurants work. I am first generation Italian-American and can prepare the dishes myself most often. These were good! Go here in Sirmione! You'll be...
