There is no better place to have dinner in Sorrento!
Our family has enjoyed every evening that we chose to spend at Mari! We ate here the first night of our stay and then for the next two nights we tried other places for lunch and dinner as we wanted to try different restauraunts and experiment. After that we decided to go back to Mari as we found the atmosphere extremely friendly and comfortable. We have decided to stick with Mari for every night for the rest of our stay. We have one more day and we already know where we will be having dinner.
All of the staff are so friendly and kind! It was my brothers birthday a day before we returned back to the restaurant and when they found out, we had a sudden surpise where the manager Salvatore and Vlady came out with cakes and a firecracker singing Happy Birthday! We were very appreciative of this gesture and it showed how much they pay attention to detail and ensure that you have the best experience! They took my Peanut allergy seriously as well so I always felt comfortable eating here.
We have found the food tasty with plenty of different options. We have tried lots of different items from the menu from the Chicken Cutlet with salad and chips, to the Pizza, desserts, delicatessan (gastronomia) items and the pasta dishes were always served fresh! We even had the Chef and servers go out of their way to make a dish that wasn't on the menu for us!
The place is clean and the staff always made sure that before we sat down we had a clean and freshly laid table! The service is exceptional there is no rush and they create a relaxing environment where you actually enjoy the evening and service as well as your food.
We would like to mention our servers Salvatore, Vlady, Giovanni and Mimmo! They are awesome and they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience!
We are actually sad that tomorrow will be our last day as we go back to London, UK and that we won't have Mari at home as we enjoyed spending our evenings here with the company of the waiters as they really made us feel at home!
We wish them all the best and Happy...
Read moreWorst waitress ever seen. When we entered the restaurant, the waitress was quarreling fiercely with another waiter. Then she came over the counter and I ordered what I wanted. She said “I don’t understand your English !” in a very impatient and rude way. I thought, oh ok you are in a bad mood, so I spoke Italian to complete the order, then she accepted the order. Gosh, what if I couldn’t speak Italian at all ? This is Sorrento not Calabria. The story was not over yet, we waited for 15+ minutes and the ready-made salad never came. She completely ignored our order. So I asked the manager to take care of this. He is very polite and kind. The waitress was the worst of the worst I’ve ever encountered in Italy. Italian waiters are mostly very friendly and passionate and happy to help. She just brought her mood to the customers. Very...
