Food: The cannolo was clearly not fresh. I could easily tell the cannol had been filled some time ago, left for a while and then frozen. It was probably left to thaw slightly before serving it. This was evident as the ricotta was flat on the edges and looked gelatinous. The pastry itself had clearly had time to absorb the ricotta, as it was slightly soggy. While it tasted relatively fine, I expected better quality.
Drinks: The cocktails were strong and the wine nice. They had a wide variety of drinks available.
Service: We stepped in and were seated quickly, and given menus. We ordered soon after. The drinks didn’t take long to arrive, however the cannoli were forgotten. We waited, thinking they would take a while. When we reminded our waiter he had forgotten them, and brought them out soon after. It was quite difficult to get the attention of waiters, even to pay.
Price: The cannoli were expensive, at €5.50 each. While this is a touristic location, the prices definitely did not match the quality. The cocktails were €9 each, while a glass of white wine was €6 each. A can of Coca-Cola was €3.50. Between 4 persons, we spent €46 for 2 cocktails, 2 cannoli, 2 glasses of wine and 1 can of Coke.
Accessibility: There were a few unmarked steps all throughout the seating area. The bathroom was accessible only through a narrow, steep, winding staircase with handrails only at certain points. Accessing the bathroom with a knee injury was scary and a bit difficult.
Overall, the drinks were good, but I would not have the cannoli again. I understand that we went at night and they may have been prepared in the morning, but these types of creamy cakes must be made fresh or not offered at all. The service also left some to be desired. The drinks were pleasantly well made, but the bathroom was quite inaccessible. Anyone with a wheelchair would definitely not even been able to sit down, and others with injuries will have a difficult time...
Read moreBar Ercolano in Sorrento quickly became our favorite spot during our three-week stay. Every morning, we looked forward to their amazing espresso and cappuccino. The pastries, especially the cornetto con pistacchio, are absolutely to die for—always fresh and delicious. The mimosas, made with freshly squeezed orange juice, are hands down the best I’ve ever had.
Our love for Bar Ercolano didn’t stop at breakfast; we also made it a point to visit in the evenings for a pre-dinner drink. The live music at night added a wonderful touch to the atmosphere. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. They are genuinely kind, attentive, and professional, making every visit a pleasure. They were wonderful with our children, always making us feel welcome and cared for.
Bar Ercolano isn’t just a place to grab a drink or a pastry; it’s an experience made exceptional by the people who work there. We absolutely loved them and can’t...
Read moreStay away at all costs. Very rude staff. One of the drinks that we ordered cracked in the midddle of the glass so drink was pouring on my wifes cloths. The other guest were more concern and helpful than the waiter. No apology give. anther drink (aperolsprits) had a fly or ant in it, which we discovered when it was nearly finished. When we mentioned it to the waiter, he looked like it is normal!!!!! Then, when we asked for the bill, The waitress (antherone) telling me that the tip is not included!!! I was so angry that wanted to make an official complaint but there was no point. They are so self absorbed and located in a high trun over by trourists, that they do not care about their service. Worth experience in Sorento. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN INSECTSPRITZ PLEASE...
