If you’re thinking of going here to eat & drink, turn around & go to Fauno Bar. I went here this evening for a meal with my wife. The first waiter was pretty unresponsive & non-communicative when we gave our order & generally came across as miserable, but we did not think much to it. They brought my wife’s meal out….we proceeded to wait….& wait….& wait for my meal to come out. There was no communication or apology from staff. My wife had to start eating before her meal got cold but mine was no where to be seen. I asked the female manager / supervisor, when I could expect my meal, she curtly said “yes I know, it’s in the oven”. My wife commented after she walked away, she was rude, the who I presume to be main manager was standing by our table & said, she was not rude, we are just busy tonight, nothing she said was rude. There was still no second meal, or apology, just disrespect from staff. By the time mine arrived, my wife had finished her meal, I took two bites…and asked for the bill. Which we paid in full. The ricotta & spinach calzone was not nice & in any case it just had a bitter taste after the awful service. There are lots of good restaurants in Sorrento, Pizzeria Aurora is definitely not one of them. Avoid this place!!

Food is bland and flavorless Service is atrocious. Had a bland Gnocchi pasta and two pizzas, the pizzas came whole. No slices cut at all, im not sure what they expect us to eat it whole or to cut it with a knife. We asked the staff they could bring a pizza cutter or cut it, one made a huge display of showing us how to use a fork and knife for it. Was demeaning, then we tasted the bland, flavorless mush of Gnocchi, we asked if we could change it as the entire party tasted and disliked it and they shrugged their shoulders. They said it was their speciality dish... Seems sad to me that their flavorless dish was also their speciality. No apology no concern that we wouldn't eat what we ordered. When the manager came to ask us if we were happy we told her what happened and her reply was this is europe what did you expect for the restaurant to change the dish... actually in Europe I expected some pride for your special dishes. For a pasta in italy to be flavorless and mushy the chef should be embarrassed. For a tourist area I also expected some sort of customer service. But none wad forthcoming. Id avoid this place at all costs. A total waste of money and time. Was truly an awful experience.

Perhaps the best pizza in Sorrento! They have a nice wine list, all the dishes you could desire and the tiramisu is amazing! I would have rated it 5 stars but the second night we returned, the waitress got our order wrong. We were first given someone else’s pizzas, which they immediately corrected but when our order was ready, they brought the two of us three large pizzas, when we only ordered one “mini” sized (as she called it) and one regular sized pizza. The waitress insisted that I ordered three pizzas and told me to eat the extra one for breakfast! She had the bus boy box it up and then disappeared for the night. With no microwave in our hotel room or homeless people to give it to, sadly, we had to throw it away. All she had to do was take it back and not charge us for it, since it was a miscommunication on her part. We had already spent $80 here the night before and would have probably returned again. Neapolitan pizzas only cost a few of dollars to make and are definitely not worth losing a good customer or receiving a poor review.

Probably the worst place my girlfriend & I ate in whilst in Sorrento, and during our ten day stay in Italy. We both ordered a pizza, as from what I could tell initially the restaurant prides itself on a traditional method of making the pizzas, using fresh ingredients and dough that has been fermented for 48 hours. The waiters were very inattentive, almost cocky and rude in their approach and didn’t seem to pride themselves on good service. When the food came, quite late I should add, the pizza I ate was lacking in every department. It was overly doughy, lacked taste, the cheese was average at best and just a bland, boring pizza overall. I complained to the waiter who sent who I believed to be the manager over to me. From the beginning, this guy was nothing but defensive and claimed that there was nothing wrong with the pizzas. Although his points were valid to an extent, he did not seem bothered about my feedback and there was nothing done to rectify the poor food. The options were either sticking with it, or ordering something else. I’ve travelled all over the world (probably more than the manager) and have eaten all sorts of food, including pizzas, in all sorts of places. This was by far the worst pizza I’ve had. Every pizza I ate in Croatia last year was much better, and I eat pizzas from a local chef in the UK who produces a much better result. I think the restaurant could learn to take on customer feedback better, and maybe realise that their recipe is not as good as they think it is. At the end of the day, until someone tells you otherwise you’ll always think you’re the best. The other negative reviews across this and Tripadvisor suggest it’s not the place to go,...

Firstly, the staff are SO rude and ignorant, couldn’t even crack a smile! We waited 50 minutes to receive our food. No bread was given, we were so hungry after waiting 30mins so asked if we could have some bread while we wait, the waiter turned his back on us and eventually some bread arrived. (It seemed only Italians had bread on their tables) We ordered: spaghetti with tomatoes & basil - didn’t come with the basil, was average, have had better. Also ordered: Fettuccine alla bolognaise - tasted so bad, tasted like gravy. The presentation was horrendous - literally looked like slop. Staff never once asked how the food was. After being sat for about 1.5hrs, they asked if we had got our food…. we had already eaten and had the food taken at this point. So we complained that the service wasn’t great & the food wasn’t very nice. They didn’t care at all, they were very defensive towards us and told us we clearly don’t know what good food is because they serve the best food…. They would not give any deduction off the bill, and insisted we pay the full amount because they had printed the bill and put it on the table so could not change it and we ate some of the food, so nothing they could do about it. Various different members of staff came to speak to us, all as rude as eachother, treated us so badly. Even an apology would be nice! SUCH POOR SERVICE. NEVER GO HERE !!!!! They honestly don’t deserve the customers. It is embarrassing that the owner can continue with no shame. IF WE COULD GIVE 0...

Poor from start to finish. A couple in the que told us they had been earlier and asked to come back in 45 minutes. After speaking to staff who ignored them for 10 minutes we saw them being told a table would be ready in 1-2 minutes. 20 minutes later we were seated and the couple were still waiting.

We saw other customers being told to try the restaurant next door which was also busy and uses the same kitchen?

We ordered 2 glasses of wine a bottle of water 4 mains and 3 side dishes. Drinks and side dishes arrived. 1 main arrived waited 10 minutes before asking how long the other 3 dishes would be. Told by 1 member of staff "I didn't take your order" he asked the waiter who took our order. We never got a reply. Asked the front of house staff who ignored us. 20 minutes later our food goes to another table. Customers tried to explain it wasn't their order & were ignored & food left on their table. We tried to explain that it was our order & were ignored. 15 minutes later asked again for our food & ignored again.

Couple sat next to us asked for parmesan and were ignored. Told us they had ordered first and second course to be served in 1 go and been waiting over an hour for their first course with no sign of the second dish.

Didnt get our 3 main dishes. Continued to be ignored by staff so left money on the table for what we had and left.

Rude staff poor...
